The market is not necessarily a rollercoaster if you know your way around the market, there are various opportunities in the present market to accrue good profit, If you are not too savvy with the market, just buy and hold on strong companies with good earnings, or consult with advisors on ETFs and actively managed funds. that’s what works for my spouse and I. We've made over 30% capital growth minus dividends.

My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

The worst time to start obsessively following the stock market is right after it's crashed -- that is, unless you're taking that long-term perspective and looking at it as an opportunity. If your stomach is in knots because the market just tanked, try reading up on the facts about crashes instead of focusing on what just happened. You'll learn that crashes are incredibly common, and the stock market has always recovered.

@jeffaragon2 ай бұрын
It's regards to the compounding method. Similar to the question of would you rather take a million dollars up front or a penny that doubles every day for 30 days. People who don't understand compounding intrest would take the million dollars up front. Those that understand time and compounding would choose the penny that doubles everyday for 30 days hence that choice will total to about 5-10 million dollars. In this example to do what he is saying you would need to focus on company's that have a high compounding annual dividend growth rate (cagr)
@jeffaragon2 ай бұрын
Mainly because when you reinvested dividends just like the penny that doubles everyday your dividend creates a higher payment everytime it pays out.
