I would recommend using powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar. The latter causes the frosting to be a bit too grainy.

Great recipe! But the batter is too runny and took longer to bake. Extra 40 minutes over the one suggested in the video. I would reduce the milk next time from 1.5 cups to 1 cup. Less sweet but I like it that way! Another variation I tried with the same recipe: I divided the batter in half and mixed 3 tablespoons of cocoa in 3 tablespoons of water and mixed it with one half of the batter. Then layered alternating white batter and brown batter to make perfect marble cake!!!

I tried this but it looks nothing like the cut sponge shown in the video. Its very moist, but very dense and sweet, almost stodgy texture. Not light and fluffy and spongey like the video.
