Ukrainian law major here. Changing the territory of Ukraine can only be done via national vote (referendum). Meaning not the parliament but the entire country needs to vote. Right now that would straddle the border between "technically impossible", "potentially unlawful" and "highly contoversial". Leaning very heavily towards the first option.
@maxdougherty342916 минут бұрын
why? there arent any ukrainians left in LDPR or crimea anyways. its same reason why people rejected Musk's ridiculous peace proposal for plebiscites in occupied territories, because many people have either been mobilized and are dead or deported or escaped west. ukraine should amend the constitution and sue for peace. sure they will lose some lands, but they keep major cities like kherson, kharkov and zaporozhie and ensure security by joining NATO

Congress doesn't need to authorize transfer of existing military equipment. Biden just has to report what he sends. Congress needs to approve the funds for the production of new equipment only. Please learn the law. Read the wiki on the Arms Export Control Act.

So Dylan what happened to your rhetoric that Ukraine wants to contuine fighting this war when zelensky himself is willing to trade territory all though he back peddling his statements, but you can also looks at recent polls and shows that majority of Ukrainians want this war to finish even if it means they. Lose the territories they already lost.

In that Gallup poll, only like 27% of Ukrainians said they were willing to give up territory
@aidanm.6557 минут бұрын
@@MrSnakeFilmsTrue, but most Ukrainians are delusional. Just wait till the front lines move closer to them and see how those opinions change. Alternatively they can keep fighting till there’s no one left, in which case the opinions of people won’t matter as the country crumbles. Bright future ahead for Ukraine.

It's unlikely North Korea would give 5 million shells, even if they had it. Especially when they are paranoid of a South Korean offensive. It's more likely 1-2 million. With about 1/5 being expired/duds. So more like 875k-1.875m shells. Which is a lot, far more than the West gave Ukraine, but it isn't really game-changing when Russia has been consistently burning through ~10k shells a day since 2021.
@chloeholmes4641Сағат бұрын
In the course of the 2024 year russia's entire "artillery rounds" fired in ukraine was from north korea reports have said. @chloeholmes4641 that's nonsensical. NoKo doesn't produce kinzhl missiles or shahed drones, which are ammunition. I think Cenk is wrong, and the idea that the Republican electorate will hold Trump accountable for Israel's actions first is insane, but he was otherwise on point for most of that end segment, even if he kept on with the partisan framing fluff ('I can't believe I'm arguing with leftists about cutting the Pentagon budget'). We can't articulate the specifics of that many billions of dollars disappearing without a trace but we can demand that the Pentagon can't expect any funding they can't account for and justify. Instead of taking that into consideration though, Destiny and Dylan keep offering this hypothetical about the Pentagon being defunded in some way that people who support the idea might not expect, and the best they keep coming up with is the VA - which is funded directly by Congress. So Cenk has to account for money that the Pentagon can't explain the absence of, while Destiny and Dylan raise alarm bells about a thing they can't even coherently hypothesize about, even among spending that is accounted for and can be pointed at. We can both use cutting Pentagon funding as a starting point (Cenk) and then articulate specific expectations for what the Pentagon should prioritize (Destiny). In the meantime though, even a bad faith nod from the right towards cutting Pentagon funding speaks to an understanding that their base is interested in it, and the concession can be used as a bludgeon against them when they inevitably do not do so.

This outsiders uneducated POV. Ukraine since 1990s was internally overtaken by russia and was in process of assimilation into amorphous russian blob like Belarus until 2013. And real motivation behind Russian anti-NATO sentiment is in "NATO won't allow to slowly assimilate Ukraine through internal coercion". Russia doesnt care about actual NATO attack because - A. they have no real chance against actual NATO B. the know perfectly well NATO will never attack That's why they worry little about Finland. Which are better at winter war and are much closer than Ukraine to St.Petersburg or Moscow.

14:25 just to add to this point. The legal win the Philippines got during their UNCLOS filing is simply a tool in their arsenal to assert their claims to their exclusive economic zone. And it has been very useful in stymying china. But it will be overall useless without other tools to back it up i.e. guns and ships, and a defense treaty with the US. If the russians thought they would actually get bogged down fighting an adequately supported Ukrainian army, they may never have invaded. Edit: 2:00:00 ish or yeah the invasion is kinda worse. Admittedly china has different priorities than russia.

Biden convincing the Senate that they should convince ukrainians to give up weapons because Russia is afraid I'm going to attack them unless it... That's at the time when the Ukraine was talking about independence... Then you have Petro poroshenko appointing a prosecutor to investigate Burisma... Turn all of a sudden Hunter Biden is on the board of directors.. and Joe threatening to not give ukrainians the guaranteed loan the investigation continues.... Boris Melrose owned by moscoweit putins oligarch.. then the whole oil refinery attacks... And then as soon as Joe Biden became president he lifted the restrictions and sanctions Nordstresm² ... And of course the best way to control ukrainians and not let Russia lose is to be on the Ukrainian side and controller what happens and what they attack and what weapons do you get...
