Firstly, a great review and so comprehensive and bang on target. Secondly, I have the RF01 and I really enjoy it but not loving it (been using 4G Soft at 48) as still feels less controlled than my Shifts, but may increase the tension to 50 to see if that helps (I am kind of sold on 4G soft on my other racquets although still testing other strings). Thirdly, when I am back home in Melbourne ( I work on the Red Sea ha ) I live around the corner from this tennis court and have played on it many times over many years ! Would love to give you a hit too ! Cheers.

Do you think adding 15-20g on the handle to up the static weight is necessary for more plow? I was thinking of undersizing the grip then adding a shrink wrap. I'm more of a flat FH and a OHBH.
@ACTennis
@ACTennis 11 күн бұрын
@@t2dev It would work, only if you feel that the hoop is stable enough, since its quite light to begin with, adding 10g shodnt be detrimental, it can feel reasonably head heavy which might put some people off on the OHBH But if not enough plow, just add like 1-2g to 12 oclock, that should be enough

Ive played with both the v8 and now v9 and have been experimenting with different string setups. Looking to see if i can get a bit more power and spin from the frame. Do you think moving to an ezone 100 or solinco blackout would be a good move? Or if you have any other recommendations? Ideally keeping the SW below 320...
@ACTennis
@ACTennis 11 күн бұрын
@@o2xygen02 Would blackout or ezone suit you? because they are much thicker frames - but blackout does swing pretty fast and has really good spin , ezone can be a bit clunky if you want more whip, but its good for driving shots New blackout seems to be coming out soon, it would be interesting what they update - but if you want a cheap frame, it means probably both are on sale now with new generations out soon If you like the whippy feel like a blade, try solinco whiteout 18x20 (the 16x19 one is really open, youll close a bunch of control)

@ I’ve been playing with the Regna since we last spoke and switching back and forth between this racket and my main Wilson Kfactor 95… and tbh, I just can’t get used to it despite I’ve dropped the tension from 56lbs to 50lbs. The Regna is so jarring and the head twists and bends so much making my defensive shots unpredictable and I become more hesitant swing through flat shots. Whereas the Kfactor is sooooo stable and very easy to plow through the ball. Thank god I was demoing it.. oh well 🥴

This racket is a beast and an extension of your arm. This racket amplifies what you want it do and make your shots even better. 18 x 20 was a bit strange especially coming from a guy who has been using BLX and Pro staff for the last ten 15 years. I switched to this racket due to weight issues with 340 gms pro staff. Shift pro v1 keeps ample net clearance and provides extra spin especially on your serves. If you are a guy with muscles and strong legs you wont regret using it. THe Reviewer does not seem to have enough strength so if you are stronger than him and at intermediate level then blindly go for this racket

The mix of Pro Staff and Shift turned out to be so-so. If you want a classic - take the Pro Staff 97L and tune it. If you want a spin, maneuverability and forgiveness - take Yonex Vcore 98. You should've experimented with making it even more headlight. It's surprising how manoeuvrable a high static weight racquet is if it's very headlight. I customised my non RF Pro Staff 97 so that it weighs 365 grams. But it's easy to swing because it's more than 10 points head light. I actually find it easier to swing than in stock form where it's much lighter, but only 7 points headlight.
