Just want you to know that Serpae tetra can ne kept in cooler water. Ive kept mine in temperature between 65-72F. Remember Serpae tetras also found in South America countries in tributaries that are cooler. Ive had mine for 2 yrs and their colors are better than in warmer water. You can research it. You are doing a good , keep it up.

Haha 😂 I was away for a while and didn’t get a chance to do an update video. But I’ll be starting the daily updates again now that I’m back. I’m glad your enjoying them 🙏

@AussieFishKeeping. lol ... oh, that's OK, good that you enjoy your hobbies and others ... with a good light and a lot of fish poop the duckweeds will take over your aquarium in 3 weeks max ( I guess 🤔 😅 )

How much food do I feed
@AussieFishKeeping.10 күн бұрын
Danios can eat quite a lot. I’d recommend trying to feed them as much as they can eat within a 2-3 minute period. I’d also recommend trying to do this at least 1-2 times a day. I hope this helps :)

G'day, another very interesting and informative video. Have always wanted to set up an all Australian native fishes tank. What other species do you thin would be compatible with rainbowfish and blue eyes?
@AussieFishKeeping.14 күн бұрын
Thank you :) For the native tank depending on the size of the rainbows you could possibly get away with some smaller gudgeons or gobies. Other than that both the rainbowfish and blue eyes should be able to cohabitate well with natives such as pygmy perch, Hardyheads, Australian Smelt, and any other smaller native fish.

My bristle nose is a menace and he’s definitely not what I would consider a cleaner fish. The amount of waste he produces a day is astounding. All in all though, he’s quite a character and I’m glad he’s around. :) Even though he digs up my aquatic plants when he can.

The Celestial Pearl Danios can breed like crazy if the adequate conditions are met like a good amount of java moss or equivalent... But I guess you didn't put it in your list because the adults not only can eat the fry , but the eggs too ... a real opened buffet with choices for them ...
@aa12421aa27 күн бұрын
Are you gonna try and breed them? How big of a tank are they in?
@AussieFishKeeping.27 күн бұрын
I just have the one at the moment. I’d definitely love to get another and try and breed them sometime in the future:)
@chngdbygrace28 күн бұрын
Why not use the high pH test with the raised pH tests? I know the airstone can have a huge impact on pH levels. Within 2 hours, with just using an air stone, my tank water went from a 6 to a 7.4... I intentionally dropped the pH after removing the fish and shrimp trying to kill off scuds that had piggy backed into the tank.
@waltonwilson214928 күн бұрын
Your topic or thumbnail is misleading. Please explain self breeding.....can the female breed without the aid of a male?
@AussieFishKeeping.28 күн бұрын
No, these are fish that will breed by themselves in your aquarium, meaning they do not need to be triggered into spawning or you don’t need to setup a seperate breeding tank :) Sorry about the confusion 😅

Use filter as flow lol peoples been keeping fishes way before any kinda modern invention was even invented best way is dig up info and pick right fish and how to keep them alive is gonna be talent
@AndrewFishmanАй бұрын
People were also keeping fish without heaters, but that is a death sentence in many places for tropical species. Just saying. Horses for courses. People kept a very limited number of fish before modern filtration systems were developed. There was a reason they were developed, to allow us to keep more fish, more effectively and a wider range, In the past they had nothing like the range we do now. Goldfish and guppies, certain cories and anabantoids, no flow is fine. Plecos and hill loaches and other riverine fish, not so much fine, they love a good strong flow of highly oxygenated water. Lake fish like turbulence. Planning to have a no flow Betta tank, great. Having a no flow Tang Cichlid tank, not possible.
@hydrocooledcarrotАй бұрын
Some of the earliest examples of fish farming were in weirs and irrigation ditches. They certainly had flow
@TryNaturalAquariam29 күн бұрын
@@AndrewFishman cichlids nah it need thick layers of sand cap up and substrates with enough plants depends on types of cichlids like Amazon cichlids but I don’t suggest those to beginners and definitely not a Mbuna African cichlids lol
@TryNaturalAquariam29 күн бұрын
@@hydrocooledcarrot all I was saying is if you got good amount of plants and enough substrate filter can be used as water flow as well
