Hi, I want to record my poetry professionally. Please tell me a microphone and audio interface that gives me professional quality. But my room is not sound proof. At night, the sound of a motorcycle and barking dogs comes in my room from outside. But I also want to do a professional recording. Please tell me. my budget is around $350.
@nastasiamarquez64729 күн бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for your comment, honestly when it comes to professional quality sound the most important part is the sound treatment. You could easily get a great sound with an affordable mic and interface if your space is well treated. So that's my suggestion. I have a video review of the fifine microphone I believe it's a $37 mic, they also have an interface that is great for about the same price. Put part of your budget aside for that and invest the rest of your money into sound proofing. I have a video with an audio engineer that talks all about soundproofing options that would help you.

@trud6346 I see, I have a video posted on proper breathing technique that I think you'll find helpful. It will take practice, but it's worth it. And another issue might be the breath hold. Make sure when you're holding that you're not "sitting" and putting all the pressure on your lungs. Allow your body to continue supporting its shape. If you need to direct that pressure somewhere, perhaps think to energetically send it to you head.

Great travel tips. Is that stand sturdy? Looking for a similar setup for long duration travel and the hardest part seems to be finding a stand that holds a screen, interface, mic, keyboard and mouse and is still sturdy enough to actually work on. Everything I've tested seems to wobble a bunch when I try typing on the keyboard. What's the brand/model if you don't mind sharing?
@nastasiamarquez6472Ай бұрын
Yes, very sturdy. There's a link in the description to my amazon storefront that has the stand listed. I will do a review of all my equipment that you might find helpful. But for the stand specifically, it's very sturdy and well built. I wasn't able to find additional attachments to customize further, so I made do with the attachments it came with, which meant I had to get an incredibly tiny keyboard to fit the shelf. Considerations, it's long, I broke it down as much as I could and it's still too long to fit into a large suitcase, I'm considering sawing off part of the top a bit to get it to fit. It's also heavy-ish (I'm sure amazing will show exact weight). Overall, it's the best option I've found, rolls very well and I recommend it.

The audio technica AT2020 is a good mic about $100, that will be sufficient for just about everything you want to do until you're ready to invest in a professional mic. I use the akg c414 about $1000

why is pushing the tongue forward when yawning important? thanx
@nastasiamarquez6472Ай бұрын
Yawning is a lot about stretching. Your body is trying to stretch internal muscles and release tension. So pushing your tongue forward will help stretch your whole tongue and keep your throat open.

Hi Nastasia, I've been following you for some time now and appreciate your videos greatly! I was wondering if there were any online courses you've taken that you felt were worth it. I do feel that I need classes to provide me structure and progress with voiceover, but I am scared to commit to these online course, especially when I don't really see that many reviews for the courses (Joe Zieja; Brady and Liz Hales for example). Do you have any advice on how to go about this?
@nastasiamarquez6472Ай бұрын
Hey there! Gosh, that's a tough one. I haven't taken any online classes, but my thoughts are if you don't know exactly what your focus in what you want to learn is, then it might be tricky to find something that meets your needs. I've been thinking about putting together little focused courses. Why don't you tell me some of the questions you have when trying to figure out your way and I might be able to put together some things. I.e. Marketing, making a demo, etc.
@BibicowsАй бұрын
@@nastasiamarquez6472 I know there's a plethora of information on KZbin, but it still feels like there's little direction and structure when it comes to applying it! Questions I'm definitely thinking about when I'm looking into a course are: how to approach copy (tone, pitch, pacing); practical exercises and assignments; guidance on how to use pay-to-play platforms effectively?

I been in VA now not quite a year and I do love it! Except for two things, one, I don’t have the time to devote to it like I’d like to 100% because I still work a day job (which would be hard to ever leave as I do pretty decent in) and then two,. ALL the auditions, gets old just doing audition after audition all the time, I’ve gotten a fair amount of work the past year and a lot of repeat customers BUT definitely getting burnt out on the auditions.
@nastasiamarquez6472Ай бұрын
I 100% understand. I'm starting to feel the audition process is getting a bit antiquated. I have my select agents that I love to work with, and this past year I've been getting booked based on my demo and not an audition. Which is how I think it should be. But I'm thinking to lean more into growing my clientele base larger and creating the projects I'm interested in, instead of chasing the endless audition process.
@cyraxox7440Ай бұрын
@@nastasiamarquez6472 Nastasia, I am with you! I’ve always been a fairly decent artist, so, now that my feet are ‘somewhat’ wet in voice acting, I’ve thought about dabbling in digital art and trying my hand at animation and combining the two. So much to learn though and time is always a factor. For voice over though, at what point do you think someone is ready to look for an agent? Again I’m only in just shy of a year so still quite a green horn, but just trying to look at things realistically.

@nastasiamarquez6472Ай бұрын
Honestly, when I was building my clientele base, I would really look up all the businesses in a specific niche or field, and reach out to them directly. Some companies keep a small listen of talent on hand to utilize for projects, so you can get your name in the mix.

Thank you Nastasia for this video. It's very comforting to see someone who has had a similar experience to me. I think it's also fair to say there's an absolute avalanche of nonsense on social media and "coaches" who are just trying to sell. I'm also so utterly sick of LinkedIn posts that look like the same regurgitated nonsense over and over again. For every "expert" that says "never do this", there's another who will say the complete opposite. You really need to forge your own path and there is a bunch of work that's just waiting to be found.
@nastasiamarquez6472Ай бұрын
I couldn't agree more. Part of building any business is wading through all the fluff and marketing, but the most reliable source is yourself so carving out your own path is the most stable approach.
