Crazy an awning so expensive has so much diy to it. Im buying this to replace our tuff stuff 270 but that one was already 99 percent put together and took way less efffort to mount . At less than half the price 🤷
@TravelExplore4x43 ай бұрын
@@seanwatson3790 Hey bud Yeah I get what you’re saying. I guess the good thing about that is that you are more flexible on how and where you mount it and aren’t limited to where they have the studs coming out for you. Not sure how the other one came when you had it but with the way I fitted mine and on the Arb system the brackets can only go in very specific spots so the studs for the awning would have to be in the correct spot. And to be honest it wasn’t really that hard and didn’t take too long. The filming of it made it take a lot longer.
@seanwatson37903 ай бұрын
@@TravelExplore4x4 I had to use the universal ones it came with because they were flat enough to fit underneath where I have my tent mounted. Don't have a lot of clearance. Which is worrying me about this one a bit cuz the brackets aren't as thin as I might be needing them to be to fit under the tent to my rack

@TravelExplore4x48 ай бұрын
I’m pretty sure there is an option to choose between 2 or 3 when you order them. I chose to go with 3 as preferred to have the added strength. There is a heap of load that gets put on to those brackets with free standing awnings.

@TravelExplore4x49 ай бұрын
Hey Travis Yep I basically wired the front and back lights together and joined them into 5 core and then ran it to the back corner where the 7 core runs up into the roof rack. I ended up soldering and shrink wrapping all the connections up there. Hope that makes sense

Thanks Craig. Yep I put it into position and then tighten the bolts where they needed to be and then got the bag into place. Hi mate I ended up having to use 4 of the shorter bolts .I didn’t think they were going to be long enough but I tightened them up last and they were fine. I also used the Kaon brackets. The reason why I chose the Kaon brackets was if you were to use the Universal brackets you would have to drill holes in the ARB bass rack and I didn’t want to drill any holes plus using the Kaon brackets they are just straight on bolt on bracket. Thanks for your video it was a great help
