@Crafttime316 oh i see. No I actually advanced the timming about 2 degrees and changed the jets and power valve. Also fixed headliner replaced mastercylinder lid and gasket and while I was there I checked over everything else like header bolts suspension bolts ect since he has put a few hundred miles on it since receiving it. It all checked out ok and I drove it alot while I was there. I had a blast

First, it has to be expected that when you touch EVERY piece of a car that some of those pieces will have some issues, I myself have the 68 back in the garage for the same reason. Second that is a TON of vacuum , no wonder she was pulling so much fuel and black smoke. I had the exact opposite issue where I had to add a brake vacuum booster on my 347. I love you dropped everything and flew out to help, was great seeing Eleanor again, you did a great job

I had to clean my gas tank in my Torino I strapped it to my cement mixer I put tumbler rocks in there and I think I used Acetone got ride of all the old tar gas

I just test fit my coupe seats after doing coupe to fastback and leaving the coupe interior I’m 5’10 my head sticks out the back window lol how do People sit back there ?

My 12 year old head will hit the glass if he sits Straight up l The fastback seats are lower, almost 2” Off the floor pan and the coupe are like 5”-6” About 2” higher then the hump for the driveline The lower coupe seat don’t work for a fastback I might make my own lower seat to get more head room

@Crafttime316 that's interesting. In the 21 years of building these fastbacks I've never actually measured for headroom. I've got a real fastback setting here and a coupe conversion setting next to it. The coupe is more comfortable. Yes top of head is close to rear window. Setting in fastback your knees are tooked in and your basically setting on the floor. Ive never had adults setting in the rear of my cars either. I guess it's all in what a person is wanting.

@ right after I filled my tank up pump went out.. Went to Napa got a new one put it in, gas gauge Only show 3/4 of a tank when full and Wednesday it just stopped working g all together $275 wasted I’ll just get one from rockauto next time

@Crafttime316 if it's a f150 like mine there is 2 style pumps. 1 is standard and other is extended range pump. It makes sense your trucks only showing 3/4 full because the fuel sender are is shorter on the standard pump and longer on the other. Also the extended range pump is about 2 inches taller.

I had a 95 mustang that the cam button failed on and it sheered the rollers off all the lifters leaving Dallas at 4am and it made it 60 miles home. I would have just shut it off and had it towed but I worked in a south Dallas strip club and it was 4am.

@Paul_D_Lashley I never heard of a mustang having a cam button. Must have been custom stuff. Most all sbf has a thrust plate that holds cam in place. That would suck ruining all the lifters.

@@MrGonein60 it was the thrust plate. I’ve always called it a cam button. I was surprised it didn’t shred the gear on the distributor but it didn’t. It was a good excuse to put in a 351W lightning engine I had sitting around. The older 5.0 and 300 six were almost indestructible if you just drove them and changed the oil.

Break down day it happens, I had a 4 speed truck like old blue there and Mahindra is an awesome tractor my friend bought the one like that and I used it for about 3 months helping him clean up his place he's a scraper a good one not a thief he's 72 we go to same church I've known him most of my life, he has a 66 Mercury cyclone that he bought in 68 original same paint motor and all, I think I told you it was a Fairlane once but it's still sharp

Hello Mr. Gone in 60. I used to have a car exactly like your. It was Cabernet Red with a titanium bottom. It had sand beige interior. I requested a Marti report. It said mine was 1 of 44 in that color/interior combination. So, if that car does have the sand beige interior it's only 1 of 44 and a VERY rare Fox Body. I recommend you do not change the interior to black.

It's the same thing in the seventies early 80s the old mustang was not worth as much, I owned over 40 mustangs 73 and older my first was a 64 1/2 260 V8 coupe with generator and I wished I would have kept every single one, one 🕜 f my best friends owns a fox body it is slick all original low miles, and he has his 66 Fairlane he's had since 68 it's slick original no rust 289 car you would love him he's Ford through and through 😂

That’s the EGR sensor on the back. People are bad about not setting the TpS sensor also. Should be 5v at wot and as close 1-0V with the throttle closed. Check the vacuum hoses under the upper intake also.

@jpmendoza138 if it's lower on let's say on right rear then it's up on left front. Then way I fix them in by putting a lowering block on opposite side rear. So you would probably need 1/2 inch block. The front will follow

Having worked on cars my whole life (i'm 63), the only problem I can see is that when you cut a spring, you actually make it even stiffer! It looks great lowered, but really needs small block springs, it will never ride right with the stiff spring rate of big block springs, which is now even higher. I used to have a chart from the spring shop I used to work at, but if memory serves me, 1-1/2 coils on a mustang spring translates to an increase of 20-25% on spring rate (stiffness).

Hey Guv! Love the work. Question, Sir: What do you use to fill the roof panel to quarter panel seam? I made the mistake of asking a forum. Every answer came with damned near violent opposition from numerous somebodies with a "better" way. I quietly went snuck out the door...so to speak.

@keefwimz I weld the seam up completely and use fiberglass filler on it. I've never had any problems with doing it that way. Body filler shrinks over time lead would be nice but is a lost art. Custom car builders fill that are with metal and metal finish it.
