boom there it is..Never thought about leaving the roof rails and then cutting them to arc the roof line. Saves a ton of work on removing the entire roof section plus leave material to maintain alignment. Same thing with the package tray, leave it in for structure plus do not need to spend a fortune on the fastback rear seat and accessories. Always great to watch your stuff.

@MrGonein60Ай бұрын
@GranjersGarage on a 69-70coupe to fastback you have to cut a slit in the windshield post right above and in line with the top edge of the door. I then use a fastback front roof brace and use a fast back windshield to help me determine how much of the post to cut out. Fastback is tad shorter and the post lays in more on each side. The slits you cut in the lower windshield post helps to lay post over. It sounds complicated but it's super easy.

I'm debating doing the conversion on my 67 Coupe or getting the quarters and trunk drop offs repaired. I know you do this work for customers, what do you charge for the entire conversion including parts/materials, not including the interior because I would want to source the interior parts back to the original fold down seat that would have come in a factory fastback. Having the vehicle delivered to your address of course. I'd have the rear glass and door glass shipped with it. Just want to drive it away and worry about finishing the interior later and getting it painted immediately.

@Crafttime316 that's interesting. In the 21 years of building these fastbacks I've never actually measured for headroom. I've got a real fastback setting here and a coupe conversion setting next to it. The coupe is more comfortable. Yes top of head is close to rear window. Setting in fastback your knees are tooked in and your basically setting on the floor. Ive never had adults setting in the rear of my cars either. I guess it's all in what a person is wanting.

Have you ever done a 69 coupe to fastback conversion? I'm in the process of replacing sheet metal on mine but there's 3 pieces I can't find so I might have to do the conversion process in the end. I can't find the rear quarter panel end caps the weld to the quarter panel, tail light panel, and truck panel for either side and can't find the piece that is at the bottom of the rear window that goes to the trunk. Also the rear deck panel under the rear window I can't find and it's rusted out also.
