when I’m working my way back to the ch2 after I dc those 2 tog, what do I do when I get to the dc2tog? Do I skip over the dc2tog and keep going to the ch2? My count was off and this pattern is confusing for me :(

I read through the comments before I started and saw mention that the video tutorial showed one version of the cluster and the written pattern showed a different version of it. I wish I'd gone with the written version because it is a much denser fabric than the pictured shawl. It's still very pretty, and I will wear it, however, since I live in Southern California, it will not be a year round shawl as I had originally intended.

It should actually be per the video. The written pattern mentions the 4dc cluster, but the instruction for making it omits the last step unfortunately. I'll try and get that rectified as soon as I can! Apologies for the oversight

I love this sweater! Just got the pattern for the child’s version and am stuck on the body. I am not good at crocheting in the round. The side I started on the first stitch seems to move and I have new stitches. So each round has to end in a moss stitch and chain one? And one row will slip stitch into the chain two and one row will slip stitch into the hhdc moss stitch? Something is messing up. I wish there was a view of the joining rows on repeat to show stitches above below and where it goes in.
@hanjancrochet3553
@hanjancrochet3553 2 күн бұрын
It's only every other round that ends in a chain 1. The other round should end in a Hhdc in the ch1-sp. I think you are probably adding an extra ch1 on the round 2 repeats. It might help to use stitch markers and also to check your stitch count each round 😀

@@hanjancrochet3553aaaaa!!! Haha after I wrote this comment I went back to my pattern and saw the * :$ I had been mentally grouping the hhdc moss stick with a chain one as one unit forever and more. And then realized it was then chain one hhdc moss stitch. I should have printed it out and highlighted it makes total sense for a pattern with even number and pattern that is staggered in rows :D Thanku Thanku!!!! ❤

Hi Hannah I ve just bought your pattern on Etsy. I have a problem as I am French and it is the first time I read explanations in English. Instead of declining on both right and left, my work is going straight … do you know why ?

What part of the pattern are you on? If it's the first bit, are you adding the 3dc, ch2, 3dc in the 2 chain 2 spaces on each round?

Hi Hannah I am following the XL size and I made the error of increasing all the rounds with the 2dc-ch1-2dc instead of stopping rd 6/7 and 10/11. In that case in rd 6 when we repeat rd 3, we do not consider the 2dc increases and skip them do we ? Thank you. 🙏

I am having a tiny bit of trouble seeing in the video, on the yoke are you increasing by 2 stitches or 1 stitch on every side for every round? I am thinking you are crocheting into every single stitch, so doing that V into each chain space increases each row by 2? Thank you!!
@hanjancrochet3553
@hanjancrochet3553 5 күн бұрын
It increases by 2 stitches at every ch1-sp, which makes a total of 8 additional stitches every round. Hope that helps 😀

I’m having trouble with row 13. I can’t figure out how to place 6 MDCs. Can anyone help?
@hanjancrochet3553
@hanjancrochet3553 5 күн бұрын
Row 13 is as follows: ch1, 2sc, 2Mdc, *3sc, 3Mdc, 3sc, 3Mdc, 3sc, 6Mdc; rep from * to last 19 sts, 3sc, 3Mdc, 3sc, 3Mdc, 3sc, 2Mdc, 2sc, ch1. If the 6Mdc don't fit, it will be because something isn't quite right in the previous row, so it could be worth going back and checking that 😀

Love the design, looks so lovely and perfect colour for a mans jumper. I’m not a huge fan of 100% acrylic as I find it makes me itch (plus hate how it feels in my hands) so tend to use cotton or blends most of the time and mainly work in fine yarns. Have you any suggestions for a cotton or a blend that would work well for this design? Only just found your channel but now subscribed, thank you for sharing your beautiful designs

Lovely! I’m enjoying working with fingering weight yarn. In addition to the error NancySF points out below about the cluster stitch definition discrepancy, I also noticed at the end of row 4 your blog pattern needs to have a “ch1” added at the end of the repeat after the dc. Glad to have the video for clarity.
