Granny was a pro seamstress. Went from every day fair to high end garments. She even made high end costumes for balls in Washington, DC political kind of events. I was intrigued but only in interest. Watching all this was exceedingly exciting to me, just like watching. Granny’s creating. I wish I was in a situation to have learned her skills! Thank you for this wonderful “show”.

I saw Lady Agnew at the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh Scotland. When I returned home, I ordered a canvas painting of her which hangs in my living room along with a watercolor lavender thistle I painted. I do like many of John Singer Sargent paintings.

Hi, Rajiv, I just discovered you from the article in Wirecutter I found in the NYT. I have some of the same passions and aspirations for my home as you, but I'm not nearly as good about cleaning up and keeping tidy as you are. I live in a little house that is old for Alaska. The core of my house was a dry (no running water) cabin built in 1978, and subsequent owners enlarged the house and added running water. It is my very own (me and the bank still for a few more years) and my plan is for it to be my forever home. Thank you so much for sharing this video about your home. You inspire me to do better on the tidiness end of things!

Manservant is male, maidservant is female, they can attend to either gender, for example a a maidservant can serve a prince.

Long time follower, but I came across this particular video at a good time. I really see myself in these approaches, and as someone who always doubts whether their idol proclivities are worthwhile or silly, it's validating. Especially recently, as I've moved and am really stressed about redecorating everything, sorting through all my treasures. Thank you for adding an atmosphere of fun and calm to the process.

Label everything!! YES!!! I help people pack boxes for moves and I'm a stickler for labeling. NO MISC BOXES! If the label is "candles, bath towels and kitchen utensils" write it on the box. I have had friends call me after long moves to say, "omg I'm so glad you made me label the box! I found my spatula immediately!" It just makes me so happy to see a like-minded old soul who loves to live, work and love in a functional bit BEAUTIFUL space. Functional does not equal utilitarian and I think that's something our modern world is missing.

I have a soft green wool coat I bought 30 years ago and even after I noticed it has holes in it I do not care and pull it out every cold season. I rotate out all my favorite household things and use them and/or display them.

It is fascinating to watch someone who understands what watercolors can be! I have watched different artists declare how horrible watercolors are. I have learned that they have not given in to what they cannot control and since they insist that control is the most important thing, the watercolorist is not respected. The joy they miss is deep. I painted for decades before I found a local community college summer class out in the Columbia River Gorge. I struggled a bit but then discovered I no longer wanted to paint what was not sitting in front of me. Catching sunshine and shadow was the challenge!

Can I just say that I love this man?! I learn so much from him. He doesn't even come across as a snob. Nobody can do his videos and not seem pompous and condescending. Only Rajiv makes you feel like your his friend and he has lots of secrets to share😊 Here we have soothing instrumentals playing in the background, his knowledge, his humor, his myriad of doses of helpful hints, and of course Rajiv's gorgeous aesthetic interior design all for our viewing. I consider the experience a privilege❤

I absolutely loved watching this video, thank you! And I believe you are onto something with how our walk and attitude can make a difference in our lives. Also, a few years ago, I made a change in my way of walking in an urban environment; I focus my gaze on the direction I'm going in. It helps the people around me to understand which way I'm going (if they are reading my body language), and the good old "pavement swing dance" when two people meet and walk into each other almost never happens to me anymore.
