I have had the M50 M2 for a little over a year. It has been my most useful camera. I have the efm 22, efm 28 macro, efm 32mm, efm 55-200, and a very good copy of the efm 15-45mm and an adapted ef 50mm 1.8, efs 55-55 f4-5.6. So I will keep using mine. I also have a vintage ef 50 1.8 from 1987 and an ef 135 2.8. The old lenses work great. I have been looking at a used M6 M2 but the price has gone up to almost $800.

I think for the little bit higher price (December 2024 ~$350-$375 vs ~$375-$400 body only on eBay) and sacrificing a SLIGHT increase in size, the EOS M6 (original/MK1) you get significantly better manual control (physical dials and buttons), a bump in ISO performance, more/faster continuous shooting, auto-exposure bracketing, and far superior grip ergonomics. I highly considered an M100 or M200 but very glad I went with the M6. I'm mainly a photo-shooter but the M6's hot shoe and external 3.5mm mic jack I'd think to be a pretty big plus for video shooters. Pretty shocked that the M100 is chiefly identified as a hybrid vlogging camera but has no external mic jack! A bit of a fail there in my book. Having had my hands on an M, M2, and M100 I had an uneasy feeling like I was going to drop it if not for the wrist strap. At the very least, I feel more confident shooting one-handed with the M6 and having overall better, more positive control. Not hating on the M100, just offering my own experience. I think your section on "what I don't like about it" is pretty much fixed with the M6.

I bought the eos m after realising my Panasonic s1 was just so huge and bulky.. I got it for £90, and it has brought me a lot of joy! I just purchased the m5 because I really like the idea of an in built flash, better low light, higher MP, and evf. I’ll see if I like it as much as the M.. I think I’ll miss the smaller size, though. It was also cheap at £250. I adapt old manual glass with a speed booster, and you can get quite beautiful results. I might try the 22mm too. Either way I love the M system for the size and price :)

Finally picked up an m6II last week with the kit lens. My favorite combo is actually with and EF adapter and the 70-300 4-5.6 USM But Bro I don't know where you shop I have not seen cheap EF-M lenses. 22mm is particular hard to find.

i'm just getting into photography and got myself panasonic lumix gx8...love it so far...but i was only able to afford 1 lens so far...and i got a fixed prime lens! lol so i started to get frustrated needing a wide-angle..or needing to zoom...well anyway... just so suddenly...an ad for an Canon M100 showed itself to me in facebook..(around the same price as I would buy another lens for my LUMIX) but it comes with two lenses!!! a - Canon 55-200mm f4.5-6.3 and a - Canon 15-45mm f3.5-6.3 ,, so i'm torn if should buy the canon with two lenses or just use the money to buy a new lens for my LUmix...if i don't decided soon...someone will snatch up that canon camera too...but a lumix lenses are just all around... so i'm so torn!!!

I‘ve used nearly every Canon camera you could imagine and for some reason I like their apsc sensors more than their full frame sensors. The color rendition and sharpness are just more pleasing. That said, pair this camera with the exceptional 32mm f1.4 and you’ll get stunning images.

It is hard to imagine i have re-entered the the EF-M once again in 2024. However, i really missed the handling, the sleek design of the M50. The M50 might not have the sharpest specs, but has everything polished the right amount rendering it pleasant, or even fun to shoot with. Its ever slightly smaller size, smaller lens, and cute DSLR appearance is perhaps what distinguish it from most RF RF-s high specs but boring appearance.

I am very happy with my Canon M6 Mark ii. I love that it is so small and I was able to acquire a decent collection of lenses that cover just about everything I want to do for not a lot of money (at least compared the the R series of cameras). And it takes great pics.

I have this camera owned since new from 2018, I am a casual user and it has never let me down, I bought it for its size, versatility, portability, ease of use and large sensor. The functions are the same/similar to the bigger DSLR's, so best of both worlds. I also purchased the VILTROX lens adapter for the EF/EF-S lenses and an extra battery. This is a small power house of a camera and well capable most scenarios, its unassuming size hides it impressive performance.

I just got a M50 Mark ii a few months ago, it's my first real camera, previously I only owned point and shoots, and I love it, it's so compact and the 2 lenses I have are so small when I compare it with full frame DSLR that other people are using.

hey! have you found a protective case for the M6 for poor weather conditions? I was planning to buy this but the weather thing is holding me back, we have about 4 months of cold/misty winter weather here in Germany so that’s a concern..

I own a M100 and I believe this camera is very underrated. The quality of the photos is fantastic and its low light performance for photography is not bad at all considering that this was a 300$ camera. I have taken some of my best street photos with this camera and made some great prints as well and I couldn't believe this was all done with such a low budget camera. It may not be a good camera for video (doesnt even support 4k) but for photography this is a beast in a tiny cage 🔥

I don't want to love it because Canon abandoned the line, changed lense mount, software is old, etc. But when I take it with me, it is so much value per gram/ size, that I buy another lens. The results are incredible.

Having switched from EF and EF-M to the RF series cameras and lenses, I still keep my pocketable obscure white M100. Too bad there will never be an adapter for RF series lenses to EF-M cameras due to the 2mm difference in distance. Not enough space to hang an RF lens from. I find the non L RF series lenses sharpness to be excellent. For my M100, I'll just use the EF adapted and EF-M series lenses. Thanks for the video!

I just upgraded from my full frame Canon R to the R6 MkII. I am really impressed and will sell my R on the used market but now am wondering if I should also sell my R7 since the R6 MKII does so much of what the R7 does and has less of a rolling shutter effect. That got me thinking that my M6 MkII could just be my replacement for the R7 when I want an APS-c sensor. Other than burst mode with electronic shutter it pretty much is the same in many ways. Your video has been very helpful.

I also love my M6II. I automatically go for it when traveling, hiking, or walking. There is something about Canon cameras (also Nikon) they just feel right in my hands. Probably because they have been making cameras for so long. The M6II is a joy to use. What is on my negative list? I wish it had some sort of weather sealing and (more minor) I wish it had a built in viewfinder.
