Thanks! We have a much more regular travel schedule so we’re excited to get back to weekly videos. 😄

My family is taking a trip from MN to Florida (for Disney World) in May, but my wife and myself both hate flying. We have a 6 year old daughter and a 2 year old daughter. Normally for any trips we’ve been taking in the last few years we’ve been driving our van across the country. I was thinking it would be incredible to just relax on a train the whole way there, still be traveling while we’re sleeping, and not have to worry about hotels or focusing on the road for 8-10 hours a day. The only things that worry me about the Amtrak though would be that sleep would be very rough, especially with my young daughters, AND that we would all get sick on the way to Florida, meaning we couldn’t even go to the Disney parks anymore (which is the whole point of the trip.) I supposed we could try masking us all up for the two days we’d be on the train, but it’s definitely a hard choice to make. 😮💨
@LearnersandMakers2 күн бұрын
I wouldn't worry as much now about getting sick (like we did) but depends on the time of year. Sleep is definitely rough, so if you have the time, I'd start your vacation with a down day just a the pool/hotel. I think a train journey like this has to be part of the adventure, not just the transportation if that makes sense.

Compared to tenting the work is probably the same right❓ I just took my grandkids camping for the first time. I have always been a tenter and was wondering if I should get a tent trailer or just a small hauling trailer for all the extras that I need for them due to vehicle packing space. WOULD LOVE if any of you can help me decide.. help‼️😅
@LearnersandMakers2 ай бұрын
I think the set up is easier than tenting. Not sleeping on the ground is so nice! Plus, it extended our camping season. Spring and fall camping are amazing. A small hauling trailer will be less set up. We now travel with a small Class C RV and the set up is so quick.

No because Disney is so expensive anywhere
@LearnersandMakers3 ай бұрын
Lots of things are expensive, especially as a family. Some people will spend $15k on a Disney vacation, so $2300 is definitely a budget many families find more affordable.

Im considering traveling overnight (just one night) coach with my child. Im worried about losing our spots next to each other while in the observation car. Amtrak cant guaranteed and i dont want to rely on the kindness of strangers. Did yall have any trouble with this..or any tips? Thanks!
@LearnersandMakers3 ай бұрын
Once you're seated, your seat is yours, even if you get up and move around. We always had someone in our spots with our stuff, but there is a tag that stays above your seat with your destination. It doesn't get removed until that destination is reached.

When I heard him say the fridge could be better used as a cabinet, I knew you guys were for real. I have been camping almost all of my 70+ years from a kid to backpacking to pickup truck campers, to pop-ups, and pop-ups are my fave. You can't beat them for space, light weight, low cost, and comfort (if there is a heater). You guys have learned a lot and thankfully have a gift of giving that to others. Thank you so much.
