No alcohol is added to fuels in Alaska, it attracts water which will freeze in fuel lines and disable your vehicle in colder months! Lived there over 7 years & I fly for a living, at least for the last 55 years.

I lived there in 1964. My dad worked for the FAA and maintained the avionics at the Tower up the hill from the airstrip. If he worked 45 minutes a day that would have been a stretch, lol! The Library used to be a Duplex where two other families lived. Downstairs was The Club where everyone met and partied. It had a small bar and very cool full length nature wall cover photos. It was a blast. Kenny's cabin down by the lake used to be the post office. There were no boxes as he would just throw ur mail on the floor by your usual spot...lol. Pike fishing there was intense, I once caught ten in about an hours time. Not a consumable fish but the locals would feed them to their dogs. White fish was the best food fish there...delicious😋We would boat around the lake in the summer and Ski-doo around it in the winter as it would freeze at least a foot thick. One gal had a team of sled dogs which was a trip of a lifetime! Hunting was common for food as we would only get a monthly food commisary flight. The government housing had running water which my dad also maintained and TV. I remember everyone coming to our house as the parents would kick the kids out to watch Batman😆

This is the same dc-4 that crashed in alaska 2 days ago. rest in peace for the 2 crew that were on board.. 😢

It's not the same. Tail Number N3054V is the one that crashed. The DC4 in the Video is N96358 which was damaged in a runway overrun in 2020 and wasn't repaired ever since. Don't know if it will be repaired in the future or if this fatal crash was the end of the commercial usage of the DC4.

These rescues are serious. A local lady got lost with her kids. They had to get search and rescue from 2 villages to search for her. She had a rifle, and had to shoot a moose so she and her kids had something to eat to survive. Seriously. This is ALASKA. It is not Chicago or metro Dallas. 656,000 square miles of wilderness. 1/3 the size and 1,000 miles longer than the continental United States. You don't vacation here unless you're on a Princess or Norwegian Cruise Lines passenger ship. One service area for medical aid is the size of the state of West Virginia. Alaska is BIG. God bless these search and rescue boys. Pray for them, their job is real hard I know a guy who's probably one of Alaska's top 10 search and rescue guys. He's an Eskimo. Has serious tracking skills and can live off the land and keep them alive if he finds them that way. King of stink weed and traditional herbal lore. Don't come up here and adventuring fool! Try something light hearted like the base of My. Everest. Go out with safari guides and real outfitters. LOCALS and natural born Alaskans get lost in Alaska. Only the Jeremiah Johnson's and Grizzly Adams survive up here. This is real and dangerous frontier wilderness!! Princess or Norwegian Cruise Lines: book your vacation now.

a little detail: "Berlin Airlift during World War II" probably you mean the Berlin Blockade which was 24 June 1948 - 12 May 1949. WWII ended in 1945. It was the Cold War, though. And those Raisin Bombers were very welcome!

Too bad there’s not such a thing as compact battery powered two-way radios that will reach a couple of miles … such a thing sure would be handy there … that is if one could be bothered to attach a bedsheet or something to those buckets to act as a primitive parachute …

Those guy's had no reason to break into his cabin. So why did they waist day light. However I believe they find him. Because I saw this cabin used with a totally different family video where the family went in with snowmobiles.

Directors note: work on editing. Too much repetition in imagery flying. Shore up some of the dead space. Video should have been about 30% shorter. Think about narrative structure. Clear beginning, middle, end. Needed a more information in the beginning. Set up the story more cohesively and avoid loose ends and meandering through it. You should do voice over narration to tie things together better. Not subtitles. You have a lot of potential. A for effort.

Over half the trees ye saw on the walk in have blown down in the ever increasing winds we're seeing in addition to the unfrozen ground not able to hold the roots. We are actually a first class city rather than a village. Lots colder this year. Heavy snow caved in a few places.

I take it that you, or others, have searched the areas you think Vlad went missing during summer (no snow) and didn't find any traces of clothing or gear he had, so I'm assuming your theory if where he went missing might be wrong. Maybe Vlad disappeared himself. It's been known to have happened many times to others in the past.
