Sully, I greatly appreciate your very knowledgeable and practical perspective on all things barbell training! I've worked my way up to squatting sufficient weight that my aging quad tendons (68 yrs next month) are telling me I should start using knee wraps. A question about sizing. Rogue offers the wrap you demonstrate in 200 and 250 cm. Any guidelines you might share about selecting an appropriate size? Thanks.

This last year been lifting weights and eating more carbs. It has made a difference in the amount of energy I have while working out under the barbell.

I also workout strength, cardio, and whenever I get a chance I hike. 5 Days a week I do (IF) I feel great but my sugar levels are above average in the morning, by the afternoon it becomes normal. Both of my parents had Diabetes in their 30’s. Just started metformin. I will continue to do a little more every day. Thanks for your wisdom. 😊

@@QUENTINHARDAGE of course. But even if a person has a pulse and respirations, an AED should be applied if they have collapsed and are unresponsive. They may be experiencing intermittent malignant arrhythmias and intermittent perfusion prior to full arrest. The AED will not deliver a shock to a perfusing rhythm.

Excellent! This is very much like some tricks I use against AD/HD, which I call "Bite Sized Pieces" and "Just One Thing". First, cut up the task into little steps -- bite sized pieces -- each one of which is clear and short duration and not a large effort. Then say, I'll do just this one little thing. I'm not contracting to do any more than that one thing. Hey, once I've done that one thing -- that single step of a task -- maaaaybe I'll do another little bit. But no promises.

This is my first time seeing any of your videos. I'm 67 and recently completed a course of physical therapy for a knee that was starting to go bad. This inspired me to get back into strength training. I quit for about 4 years, because of osteoarthritis in my left shoulder. I got to where I just didn't care anymore and didn't want to make the time to do the training. I've found that the p.t. for my knee has also helped my left hip. I'm still doing the p.t. exercises, but have added barbell/dumbbell training to my overall program.

Hi I'd love to hear your opinion on heavy deadlifts being bad if you have vericose veins? Not sure if i'm just dealing with a pulled calf muscle and a knot of vericose veins in the area or if its the vericose veins that are the problem...🤫
@GreySteel16 күн бұрын
@@ralphnevill6171 varicose veins alone do not contraindicate deadlifts. However, I can't give you specific advice, or even determine if what you have actually are varicose veins. If you are having calf pain and swelling, you should see your doctor.

My father has back pain. I wish I could have him deadlift but he is type 1 diabetic since childhood and the blood vessels in his eyes need constant laser therapy because he is slowing going blind. Deadlifting is contraindicated for him. Be careful out there. This thing of ours doesn’t cure every ailment and is not for every person. As for me… I lift heavy weights. And I own the good doctor’s book as well as both of rip’s.
