In this situation what’s the recommended recording settings? 4:2:2 10bit, or 4:2:0 8bit because no grading needed? Thanks for sharing this, sometimes the time is really against us and need to share a footage in just minutes for social media 😅

Hey man, I know its an old video but what lens did you use in this video? I wan't something nice for my a6100. I saw you recommended the Sigma 18-50 2.8 APSC lens, is there something else I should worry. I want to buy like 2 lenses for $500 or 1 for $1000 what you would recommend? A 1000 usd lens or 2 of 500usd for more flexibility i'm new to this.

s cinetone or ay profile needs some work . PP dont matter as long as ur exposrue and white balance are on point, as your are supposed to have that correct on camera anyways ! shooting slog3 would work exactly the same and would also get more out of the image !

Excellent. So for old footage in the 90s which is showing at 1080 (so it's squeezed horizontally, making the people in it wide and fat) would you use the same adjustment but for the Y axis @ 0.65?

That's a good questions! I'm not sure, TBH. I've never worked with really old footage like that and needed to squeeze it.

HIya! What if i shoot everything on 60fps? But i dont want all of them to be in slow-mo? Is there a way to interpret it to 24 but not slowing the clips down and just choose which clip to slow mo?
@donovankeanАй бұрын
Great question! Yes. All you have to do is add them to the timeline without going to the clip properties and changing them to 24fps. If you just add them to a 24fps timeline, then they'll play back normally. Then you can choose to slow each clip down as you please by selecting an and pressing "Ctrl+R" on your keyboard.

For speed ramps, I've been using this method I learnt from the KZbinr Jamie Fenn. You create an adjustment clip over the speed ramped footage and open the adjustment clip in Fusion: MediaIn > Optical Flow > Vector Motion Blur > MediaOut. You can give it a try! For FPV footage I've only ever used the old motion blur options in the colour panel, but will definitely try your method then next time I get some decent footage!

Great post! So 🤔 using the "motion blur" option in the color page, automatically uses the "key frames" you placed on the edit page...? we don't have to "key frame it" then...? thanks! cheers~
@donovankeanАй бұрын
Well, the motion blur in the color page only interprets original frames. So if you're using speed ramping, it's not going to interpret any skipped frames. Do do that, you'll need to right click and select "Render In Place" from there, select the highest quality. After that, go back to the color page and add motion blur. It will then blur together the visible frames and skip the skipped frames.

I dont have s-cinetone in my sony A7III?
@donovankeanАй бұрын
Not that I know of, for the a73, I recommend just using either no PP, or s-log 2 + ITU709 Matrix (for color)
@SexkeksProducts5 ай бұрын
My biggest problem with LOG-Profiles is that I can't see the WB, without leaving the LOG-Profile. The "right" WB looks in most cases uncanny and unnatural, for example a white shirt in front of a candle at night will never be white, it will be orange or yellow, but with a LOG-Profile I can't f***ing see sh*t and if I "fix it in post" it's just extra work for less quality. I even bought an external monitor with transformation-LUT-capability, but it completely sucks, I can only say for example do SLog2 to Rec709, but not SGamut or SGamut3.cine, so the image looks nothing like in Davinci Resolve as on the monitor preview.
@nretful4 ай бұрын
Some Sony cameras have an option called "Gamma display assist", which adds a fair bit of contrast and saturation to the image you see on screen. I also find the app "Monitor +" to be very useful when shooting video, although sometimes it's a bit laggy.
