Why would you work on a 709 clip? You'll get way better results and more options working in a bigger color space, especially with color space aware tools like the color warper...

I didn't get into details during the video, and technically I misspoke. I have my DaVinci color management set to automatically convert all my clips into the DaVinci Wide Gammut while I'm working on it, then I export to Rec709. In the media page I typically just right click and tell Resolve that the Input color space is slog3.

Photo program 3d lut creator could do this a decade earlier, I wonder if Resolve have copied its functionality.

Yup, you can tell that you’re new to this. Use the qualifier to get the skin tones right… And then do whatever you wanna do to the rest of the image.

Just showing others that there are multiple ways to accomplish the same thing inside of Resolve. I've had tons of success as a business owner with the principles that I teach on my KZbin channel. If it's not for you, that's ok! But there's no need to attack me personally.

Pro colorists typically don’t qualify skin tones as far as I know.

@@thepropolys I personally use the qualifier for whatever I need to get the image to look good! Not looking to compete with pro colorists any time soon, just getting some great looking images with the tools inside Resolve and teaching others how to do the same.

@@donovankean Fair enough. My response was mostly toward Allen who seemed to think that someone with lifelong experience would prefer the qualifier.
