Hey y'all! I just made a short video showing you how to add markers even FASTER to the beat of the music! Check it out here ---> kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3atq6CYh7GImc0

it would br great if Resolve made those markers based on the BPM
@donovankean2 жыл бұрын
I agree! I searched and searched and couldn't find a way for it to automatically create those markers based on the BPM. But it didn't take too long to do it manually

I though the same thing!

I just had an absolute nightmare with some of my footage on my latest video using Premiere Pro, so the algorithm really did know about my plans of switching to Resolve... Since I'm shooting in 10 bit mostly I'll have to jump straight to the Studio edition though... Excited about these features though.. Resolve really seems like the way to go for me.

I've been hearing that a lot lately! So far Resolve Studio has been awesome for me

Thank you so much, Donovan! I've been wishing for an easier way to sync videos to audio and this gets pretty close to what I was wishing for. Coming from Digital Audio Workstations to Video Editors, I was hoping there was a way to edit via MIDI files/input or some other kind of trigger to make things feel more organic (in addition to Resolve's brilliant VST support). Or better yet, The ability to link Resolve to DAWs via MIDI Timecode like Video Slave software. I was literally trying to figure out how to convert BPMs to clock time the other day for this very reason and it was a nightmare. This 18.1 BPM feature is a perfect solution to that problem. Thanks a million, Donovan and BMD!

you need markers to follow the beat? If you can’t hear the beat, if you can’t see the beat with the audio waves… Well then maybe you shouldn’t be editing. I know lots of good editors and I’ve never met one that can’t just hear the beat.
@donovankean Жыл бұрын
Ahhh yes because only doing things one way is always the best. It's never good to have more options depending on the editing scenario. 🙄 But for real of course I can hear the beat 🤣 I actually took piano for 11 years and consider myself relatively accomplished in music. But this feature is a nice to have in some instances.
@2424rocket Жыл бұрын
@@donovankean well if you’ve played piano for 11 years, you really don’t need to “see“ the beat. And I also find that people who think they need to cut on the beat, they really have no clue about what editing is about. You’re supposed to cut because of the content of what you’re seeing, not because the beat changes. I’m not saying never cut to the beat, but that should never be of primary importance. I know I know people do… And that’s why their editing can be terrible. Of course there are always exceptions.

@@2424rocket You do you man. I'm not stopping you! I'm just making tutorials about features inside Resolve. This is one of them. Some people might find it useful. If you're already a pro then I guess you don't need to watch my videos 🙃

Double my editing speed? So in other words if I’m charging a client 60 bucks an hour… Instead of the 60 bucks I’ll only make 30. What a great idea! In this fantasy about editing on the beat… Aren't you supposed to edit in relationship to content. If something great is going on we’re going to interrupt that because here comes a beat. ? There are more bad editors in the world than I could possibly count… so instead of listening to KZbinrs, you should be watching more Stanley Kubrick movies.

Bro chill 😂😂😂 editing to the beat is a common method for many filmmakers. Also, many professionals charge per project vs hourly. For example I primarily do weddings, which means I exclusively charge per project, which also means that if I can save time in the editing room, that will help my business be more efficient. You do you, though!
