This is a great routine! Is it safe for those that have a lumbar spine curve? Especially doing twists and rotations.
@nicolamoberg4 ай бұрын
@@eglehrgaard5952 absolutely, as long as you lift the bottom of the abdomen and push your heels in the straight leg, all the time. In case the straight leg twist gives you discomfort than skip it. Otherwise it helps to align the spine. Thanks for joining the class!

Thank you Nicole and Nicola for this insightful discussion. I feel that I have learned a lot. I do know that yoga isn’t asana. It isn’t all about the physical practice or about doing it harder or faster or hotter. I am definitely a seeker so for me, yoga is finding a way to stay present and to connect with something bigger than myself. I feel that my interpretation will evolve and change, but, that is where I am right now. I am so thankful to you both for sharing your thoughts. ❤

Thank you for your insight, the interpretation of yoga is always changing as we grow, that may be just the beauty of it. That's why "what is yoga" can't be a straight answer, it's where the seeker is in her/his evolution. Thanks for listening!

As an additional note, if you use these thin straps, then only stay in downward facing dog position as they are not so stable for hanging, you still get the effect of the spinal traction. If you have thicker straps like the ones from Manduka, make sure that the buckles are aligned when putting them together, so they don't slip. Anyhow, please use with caution, the best way is to get the pelvic swing set from version 2 which is absolutely safe if the door is closed properly. In Europe you get the swing from www.yogawall.eu and in the US from www.yogawall.com

Lovely video Nicola! Is that your chin up bar? Are you knocking out 10 or 15 chin ups every time you come into the living room? Thanks for giving a clear explanation for a DIY spinal traction.
