Are there many human drivers out there that don't know a flashing red light is the same thing as a stop sign?
@Vardraq

38:42 This is very interesting to me as German (EU). We have a clear hierarchy Police > Lights > Signs > General traffic rules. So, if a traffic light is out, or blinks yellow for some reason, you need to fall back to the signs, which tell whether you have right of way, have to yield, have to stop. And if there are no signs (which is unlikely the case when there is a traffic light put up), it is right before left. I hope FSD will understand that hierarchy and understand the general traffic rules to be applied when there are neither lights nor signs. Currently I see Tesla's autopilot do so much stupid mistakes, which has me really concerned. But then also, the Autopilot version outside US is basically archaic in comparison to what it can do in the US.

Chuck, thank you for taking the time to do this. Your camera skills are top-notch. I wanted to know if I could pay you for your time to make another 3D-printed bracket like you had to cover up the wire on top.

RELYING on HD mapping is not a viable avenue: who is going to pay for hourly updates of the maps even if it worked? Even updating at that frequency or even more doesn’t work - there’s a huge difference between having a human overseeing the car and the car being totally autonomous, which for me necessitates the ability to adapt by sensing the real world instead of relying on a database.

I wonder if your car has an alignment issue. Your steering angle is always around 1-1.5° to the right, while you're going straight, while the steering wheel is slightly pointing to the left (hard to tell exactly because of camera distortion tho) :)

Got it today and it is far and away the best update yet. The only issue I had was lane staging. Otherwise flawless, smooth and finally an end to the constant throttle push. Nice video chuck!

🇬🇧Love your channel from this side of the pond here in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. However, I think this is a badly thought out and designed piece of Cyberkit. IMO, the Cybertruck is the equivalent of the iPhone compared to old mobile phones, it’s a game changer! Why would anybody make you look away from your normal, safe driving view? 🧐The View in the Tesla screen was just as badly designed & positioned, sometimes ‘no part isn’t the best part’. If this accessory is going to be a game changer, utilise the area for the sun visor. Imagine if you had a large, wide screen for your sun visor that displayed your left, rear, and right hand side views.

Speaking to AJ’s question about attention monitoring being more aggressive, I can’t fully speak to it but it is very aggressive when you have a hat on that black the camera. I often sit in a way that my hat barely covers my eyes and the camera barely even gives me any time before it defaults to requiring the wheel torque. I wish I gave me more than 2 or so seconds

@@ChuckCook No worries, watched it till the end anyway. :) Interesting thoughts/inputs about HW 3 from AJ. That begs the question when a upgrade from HW3 will be necessary. Till we here in Europe get FSD... will be a few more years anyway.

So disappointing to see that it still can't figure out how to brake properly to use regen instead of using the friction brakes for every stop with clear visibility from far away that there's going to be a red light or stop sign.

Currently running 12.5.4.2 & totally relate to your first issue of the car, not being able to recognize traffic speed accurately 40 mph+. Completely agreed that it pokes around too much and just needs to commit to a pull out. It wants to feel out traffic too much still.

Re line markings which are not painted to standard. It would seem the Tesla's FSD is real good at finding inconsistencies. I'm in two minds where the road authorities should fix the issue or the car FSD should lean to handle it. My preference would be the road authorities should correct to the standard as other drivers would also get confused. I remember driving this year in Canada and one of the eastern states make a real mess of highway turning lanes. Both FDS and this driver made the same mistake and ended up on the wrong side of the road! The state makings for centre lane turning across oncoming traffic were following some weird local standard different to everywhere else. Maybe Tesla should be alerting/working with the local authorities to fix the corner cases and improve the safety for everyone.

16:11 again! The lane lines! Look down at the lane lines. I’ve noticed that FSD “follows the rules” sometimes where a human wouldn’t. If you look at the way the exit lane lines are painted, you can see it stays solid - for too long. And FSD just obeys that solid until it breaks.
@jessiejanson1528
@jessiejanson1528 Күн бұрын
Might also be because he changed the navigation. The path vanished and recalculate while at the exit.
@paragone
@paragone Күн бұрын
18:45 I think this wasn’t a “bad lane change” just FSD following the rules too closely. If you look at the visualization, the lane lines don’t break into dashes until really late - and FSD doesn’t like to cross solid lines, so it waits until the break in the lines, and then it moves over.
@paragone

It’s really poorly drawn lane lines.

Where is the screen turn signal pop-up window? It never shows entire video. Hardware 3 recognizes other cars blinking turn signals, and slows Tesla to let them move over. Annoying when other car is too cautious or is errant blinker. It is very accurate, when other car is tapping brake lights it does not seem to fool it, it must be a turn blinker.
@ChuckCook

I have it turned off for filming, so it doesn't block the screen. That is a selectable option.

486 / 5,000 Chuch...at many times you are so comfortable in your conversation with the passenger who accompanies you! At times the conversation is physically like a conversation in a living room and not like a driver in action on the streets of a city. Impressive, especially being one of those drivers who are more focused and attentive when they are driving. It really is impressive that you are having a social experience while an autonomous car is dominant in driving the vehicle.

Thank you for making the video. I too had bought this kit and it is nice to see the job I have ahead of me. I too wanted to mount the rear camera in the same spot. I don't have a 3-D printer. If you are printing mounting brackets I would gladly pay you if you can make one for me. It is going to be nice turning on the blinder and not loosing the review. I was however thinking of mounting the front camera on the glass behind the back seat in the cab so I can easily see if my load has shifted during transport. You really don't need a front camera because CT already has one already.

As long as the programmers stick to the coffee cup test, the car will never do a fast U-turn.
@jessiejanson1528
@jessiejanson1528 Күн бұрын
If it has to see what's in front before moving, then a u turn must be slow since if it went fast the front camera wouldn't process the images fast enough. Having more frames per second could allow for faster turns.

A question for AJ. AJ, I'm on the same version as you with HW3. One of my main complaints is how it handles red and green lights-often hesitating or braking hard even when the light is green. I think it tends to happen when the intersection is busy. Have you experienced the same thing?
