6:35 No, you didn't mention it earlier and it's also wrong. Windows CE came only with a handful of games, it was not the OS of the Dreamcast.

I miss the sony demo discs that use to get distrubuted randomly. Got me super excited for the coming titles.

The Xbox has probably aged better, but particularly on CRT televisions the ps2 still looks and plays good today. Not ps5 quality but on a crt games like baldurs gate 2 still looks and play amazing today.

Big N's first loss was the Virtual Boy.. the N64 was amazing when it came out, even if it didn't win the console war it still has some of the best game of that generation.

31:54 - I’m sure others have already commented but the original PS2 EE and GS are not a SoC. Even in the background you can see the GS sits on the right side.

Clearly remember a local game shop having a Japanese PS2 (in the UK) and seeing a FIFA game playing on it and been completely blown away by the graphics, thinking it looked genuinely realistic. How far things have come since then but have fantastic memories of the console.

This game was one of the best at generally making me happy as a child. It was extremely positive, varied and fun. I don't have a Gamecube anymore but am planning to get a Nintendo Switch to replay it at some point. I think it was an incredible game.

You kind of wonder if the Saturn had lasted longer. If Sega didn't have to develop and release the Dreamcast early- could DC have utilized DVDs and become more attractive to the casual consumer?

Crazy to think how Nintendo was impressed with the reverse engineering of the NES. If it was done today, Nintendo would be sending out C&D letters and dragging the people through court and suing them.

Nice video. What happened to players choice games? Nowadays 5yr old switch games are still full price. Ive played all the marios games since the original. I need to play sunshine again but i do remember it being frustrating at times. Its hard to follow up on mario64. Not every game can be genre defining.

Sony probably asked companies to make a slower chip, knowing that info would get back to sega, sega would then think that there choice of chip would be on parr with sonys

I feel like the PS2 encapsulated the vibe of the 2000s. Not only did we get a huge library of games (along with DVD capability), but the games themselves were fun as hell, highly creative and experimental, and had that 2000s edge to it. The commercials for it were awesome too. A lot of people say that PS3 was peak, but to me, the PS3 was just an HD extension of what the PS2 started. Best console of all time.

The playstation hit several lightning in the bottles at several of the right times times. 2000: oh here is or new system. Its upgrade from the ps1 which its backwards compatible with, oh and it plays that next generation home video format. 2001: Oh look microsoft and nintendo have systems coming out..that's nice. Here is some bangers from us: Gta III, MGS2, GT3, Jak and daxter, and Final fantasy 10. 2004: Halo 2 huh? Oh hey we dropped the price of PS2 to $149. Oh and here is some more bangers in to enjoy between now and into 2005: Star wars battlefront, Gta san andreas, Killzone, MGS 3, GT4, God of war, Guitar hero, socom 3, shadow of the colossus, star wars battlefront 2...oh wait the ps2 is $99.99 now. Enjoy!

Nintendo's Profits Soared after the release of the N64. The net sales numbers rocketed in 1996 and peaked in 1999. then they dipped a bit until 2007. really the N64 although selling less than the SNES, made almost as much money, and was a HUGE Success.

The reason why nintendo left the sony partnership is because they didn't want to give ownership of 3 of there major ip to sony if they did this sony would easily be able to abandon the partnership later on while being able to keep mario, zelda and metroid. Everyone leaves this out tho

My favorite video game of all time with my favorite character ever as the main character, this game is the most epic and most awesome game ever, this game was part of my childhood and it's a masterpiece for me it's just the greatest game I will ever play and it's awesome that Mario is apart of the game and you have to fight and catch every ghost up until Final Boss King Boo, this game is everything and it's so close to my heart, I freaking love and adore this game as much as I love and adore my favorite character ever Luigi, thank you so very much for this video and the history behind the game.

It was a bit of an oversight not mentioning how Gran Turismo 3 helped to sell PS2s at the time. Both GT1 and GT2 were the best selling games on the PSOne, so there was a HUGE demand for a sequence when the PS2 was announced. Yeah, Kingdom Hearts and Silent Hill 2 might look like the better choice now, but back then it was games like GT3 that carried the system.

My top 5: Super Mario Sunshine Super Mario Odyssey Super Mario 64 Super Mario 3 Super Mario World I started on SNES but 2D never really did it for me too much. 3D Mario is king and Sunshine is the king of kings.

Too much drama and idiocy over videogames, especially videogames such as these which feature a kind of lasting warm creativity and lack of boobies, bullets, and the reassurance that you're totally a cool manly grown-up.

DK64 will always be one of my favourite games. As a fan of Metroid, I love the aspect of back tracking to explore, and collectathons are fun to me still. Grant is still one of my favourite composers and he has consistently made gorgeous and catchy tracks that are immersive.

The 1.5 GB disc, the most stupidest decision ever. Sure I may have had a NES as a Kid, before being a teenager, but never went back to Nintendo once I did hit my teenage years. They are way to kid focused. Never learning from the better ones like ps1 and 2, I'm no fan of MS'es stuff though. XBox and Win.
