I love mine. It is my go-to trimmer. Unfortunately reloading the string is a super major pain. They followed other manufacturers and you have to manually twist the bump knob to rewind the string. The string doesn't load smoothly. It overlays on itself, and the string jumps from compartment to compartment, so one gets stuffed while the other is empty. And turning the knob is really hard. I remove the reel and wind it by hand, then have someone help me put it all back together.
@EverythingInBetween22
@EverythingInBetween22 13 күн бұрын
Yea, I wish it was a little easier/smoother to wind it up. Try putting on some regular fabric gardening gloves. If fabric gloves don't help, try some leather gloves. Harbor Freight has some good leather gloves options for $5 and under.

@EverythingInBetween22
@EverythingInBetween22 16 күн бұрын
Hold the orange button down, first, then squeeze the top lever... If it's still not turning on, is the Battery charged? Battery properly/fully inserted? Are you using the 80V battery? Is the Red safety plug inserted all the way in? Safety plug is located in the battery compartment. If it still isn't turning on, you may need to return it to HF. Let us know what happens.

Hopefully getting this one tomorrow if it's in stock. My 10000 btu stopped blowing cold air today when it hit 112 after a yr of having it. Was an off vrand name. Fingers crossed they have it. Does the hose need to be high up like that? My window is rather low
@EverythingInBetween22
@EverythingInBetween22 17 күн бұрын
No, it doesn't need to be that high. The hose is an "accordion style" hose and can stretch to fit higher windows like ours. So it should definitely fit your lower window. View the "Full User Manual" link in the description, so you can get a better idea of how it works and what you might need to get it set up. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Great work ! It inspired confidence. In my situation the inner chassis did not release but the battery compartment "carefully" opened on the ribbon cable. the hardest part was putting the tape on the new battery tab. Tweezers did help. The power connection is made on the top when it folds over, keep adhesive away from there!. the good news is bottom holds it in place on two tiny pins and that it is then sandwiched by the screws we took out. So the tape really just needs to work for a little bit and doesn't need quite as much accuracy as you'd think. Give yourself a lot of light to do this. If the battery is decent, I think it will be worth it, my wife's rose gold model had a custom leather band and she loves it even over her newer one, it was worth a $20 roll of the dice to keep it alive. I have worked on other projects with PC;s, Ipads and macs back when you could, so I'm not a novice at these experiments

You & everyone else that reviewed this a few years ago just calls it "the battery." I think Harbor Freight added a new, higher capacity battery. If you could glance at your battery and confirm it says "40V 5Ah / 80V 2.5 Ah" I'd appreciate it. The "new" battery is "40V 8Ah / 80V 4Ah" and is about the same price as the mower itself and will have vastly different run times. Thanks either way for the video!

For a room about your size BUT with high ceilings I wonder if theres a big difference with the 8000 BTU to the 14000 BTU unit
@EverythingInBetween22
@EverythingInBetween22 Ай бұрын
I believe there would be a noticeable difference. For a room the size of mine, i believe an 8,000 BTU would struggle and work overtime to try and keep the room cool, especially if y'all have crazy hot summers. At our old house, we had an 18,000 BTU Window Unit. When it went kapoot, the 18k BTUs were so expensive we decided to try a 12,000 BTU unit and when summer came around, we immediately regretted it. I guess you could always try and return it if it doesn't work out?
@robluxuryvegas
@robluxuryvegas Ай бұрын
@@EverythingInBetween22 TRUE, Ya Vegas is crazy hot this time of year. I dont need the heater function but may try the 14,000 BTU. Its hard to find a bigger window unit than that in 120V
@EverythingInBetween22
@EverythingInBetween22 Ай бұрын
@@robluxuryvegas Correction: my window unit was a 12k BTU and we replaced it with an 8k BTU... the 18k BTU, in the previous house, was a 110/120v and kept our 14x38 (~530 sqft) room, ice cold... and didn't have to be running all the time. That's the great thing about the higher BTU units. Window units may be a little louder than portable units but they push air a lot better, in my experience. Window units drain water, and well, my portable Toshiba inverter hasn't had to drain water, yet. Pros and Cons to everything.. unfortunately.

@EverythingInBetween22
@EverythingInBetween22 Ай бұрын
Not sure if a torque wrench can fit in there enough to click, but you only want enough to compress the rubber bushing a bit. It isn't much. I would say around 20-25 ft/lbs (by feel is what I did). If you look @9:00 mark, you'll see the old bushing was really smushed, like they tightened it way too much when installing. At least, I've never seen them THAT bad when replacing shock absorbers.

@EverythingInBetween22

Yes, it's possible, if you've checked your drain lines and they are clear. Check the Cowl Drain (accessed from under the hood on the passenger side firewall). That could be clogged. Search on YT for Ford Explorer Cowl Drain Leak and it may solve your issue, if it's clogged as well.

@@goober9983 But it does take humidity out of the air... Use the Dry Mode and the Top Drain outlet if you want to use it solely as a dehumidifier. Unless you're saying that your particular one isn't working as advertised. :( Even during Cool Mode, like traditional air conditioners, they use a refrigeration cycle to cool the air, which inherently involves removing moisture from the air as it passes over the evaporator coils. This process helps to dehumidify the air in addition to cooling it. However, the effectiveness of dehumidification can vary depending on factors such as the size of the unit, the ambient humidity level, and the specific design of the air conditioner.
