03:46 interesting, he says the nigella seeds (the pretty flowering plant is called 'love-in-a-mist') is called "black cumin", though they’re not closely related. In Indian cooking, nigella seeds are called "onion seeds", despite also not being related to alliums. That I know of. Haha. But in India, there is an actual black-colored cumin seed, called ”shahi jeera" (royal cumin) or kala jeera (black cumin), as opposed to simply "jeera". And they look the same as standard cumin, only darker. Nigella seeds look more like black sesame seeds.

Love it but can't have it too much because of diabetes which leaves me wondering if the rate of diabetes is higher in Italy because they eat all that pasta/carbs.

I like to try different foods but don't care for spicey so I'd probably pass on this cuisine.

It is my opinion that Maeve should be honoured with a government civilian award for her contribution to promoting peace, cultural harmony and information about the various foods from around the world.

Ghee is the name given in India. In Europe it is called clarified butter. It’s the same thing. It’s been used for centuries across the world that has dairy.

A croissant is possibly a regular thing to eat in France, but regarding French desserts: they're more like for occasions or tourists. An ordinary French person wouldn't eat them everyday. I guess they're more of fromage and fruit people, than desserts, and they walk a lot, especially around the capital Paris where the traffic jam is high, so they prefer walking to driving, but the majority of the French being too thin is not the case anymore in the last few years. I guess globalization and fast foods have affected all new generations around the world.
