Thanks for watching Brad! Sounds like you have a great collection. I think I may have misspoken about the safety affecting the trigger. Although they may have been added at the same time, it is the rebounding hammer on the 39a that many people don't like as compared to the original. The mechanical change that operates the rebounding hammer affects the trigger pull.

Yes, that is frustrating. But, Henry did fix the rifle, whatever the problem was, and got it back to you quickly. No keyholes! I think you need to try another ammo weight just for more data. The new cardboard was an excellent idea. I see that at my range, trying to teach a new shooter in that little NRA bullseye target, and not being able to track the misses. At this point, all you can hope for is consistency so you can diagnose the problem. Thanks for taking us along. BTW I'm doing a 10/22 project for a friend. That's kind of fun for both of us.
@texmexshoots6 күн бұрын
Thanks Frank! Anytime I get a large box or any other big piece of cardboard, I stash it in the garage. Makes it a whole lot easier to put up targets on the palate. What kind of 10/22? Target? Take-down? The 10/22 is the most customizable 22lr on the market. And has been for decades. The next step for me will be putting a scope on the Henry and like you suggested, try a few different loads. Hopefully I can find one that it likes!

@@texmexshoots A 1980s base model. New Adaptive Tactical RM4 Ruger 10/22 Stock, BX trigger, recoil buffer and "slingshot" bolt release from Volquartsen. I've already done the upgraded magizine release. The stock bolt release is Code 3 super annoying! For what she wants I don't need a new barrel. Maybe... a red dot(?) BTW I forwarded your videos about the night vision scope on to a friend. He was super impressed that you could video through the scope, and that it was a mid-range investment.
@texmexshoots6 күн бұрын
@@frankhinkle5772 I was impressed with the scope. I honestly hadn't realized that quality of night vision was accessible at that price. Sounds like it is going to be a nice 10/22. I think I have an extra BMX trigger. I think my LVT came with one and I swapped it out for the KIDD. That KIDD trigger is amazing but basically doubles the cost of the rifle.

@Jrhuck527 күн бұрын
2 things. 110 gr shoots low due to higher velocity = less time in the barrel for recoil to effect it. 110 gr load also has less recoil so tighter groups. That’s why every one shoots better with a .22 LR.

I thought it was going to end on the first night, but then I got some next day footage too. I had the hardest time getting my Skinner peep on my Rossi 357 mag sighted in, but that is my problem from not being used to a peep sight I assume. I did finally get it sighted in. My issue was more the ammo than the sight. That's the ammo that was key holing and blowing primers out. Oh, I just put a scope on my Henry H001 22 LR in preparation for the Captain America Challenge.
