Anybody who sees this and has read any hispanic written books for health hardships and dealing with life (preferably written by a hispanic woman), please let me know! Thank you ❤❤❤

Funny you were finding the end a bit "too long" (let's say). For me the last 100 pages were pure delight. I was amazed by how this incredible writer was able to continue a story that was already almost finiahed, passing from kilometres to meters, then to centimetres. The world of this people is compressed, more and more little, but still alive, and again and again. That is were imho you understand how important was that battle: it was important for itself, was not a matter of winning or losing, but a fight for fighting. Wonderful book and unbelievable writer, one of the absolute best.

Nice summary. Notice the theory and practice of "libertarianism" exhibited in the events depicted in the book is essentially anarcho-communist (albeit within the context of a fundamentalist cult-like society), rather than having anything to do with the bizarre, bastardised and totally false notion of so called libertarianism as championed by reactionary, sociopathic market fetishists.

I found this book abandoned a few days ago, so I grabbed it up and I read it. A remarkable novel, indeed I might even be willing to call it profound.

I only got about 140 pages in. It was so depressing and I couldn’t get into the characters either. I actually liked the writing style but i didn’t find the plot interesting. I can enjoy long and overly detailed books like The Secret History because the plot was so engaging and I felt immersed in their world. Slow paced, realistic books bore me.

I'm making my second attempt at reading this now. The first time I only made it to pg. 200. I was so annoyed with the characters that I couldn't stomach anymore of it. Your comment of it being a parody, gave me a new perspective that I can view this reading through. I hope that this view makes the book more palatable for me. Enjoyed the review!

I tried to do this on my StoryGraph account, but there aren't enough reviews there yet. (StoryGraph is still on their beta version until the end of 2020.) But I can tell you that even though I have a variety of books in my TBR, the top 5 on StoryGraph are all written by Native American women. Number 1 is Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.

part 2 was released after 10 years of part 1. The readers were literally crying for more resulting which there were people taking advantage and releasing fake part 2. There Miguel determined himself to write the second part.

This was so refreshing. Honestly, I'd rather engage in a channel that is authentic and unique. I've become wary of these "mainstream" channels that all seem to either be competing or promoting an agenda. Keep doing what you do goddess, you're definitely on the right path.

Thanks for your video. I read One Hundred Years of Solitude in college. The official translator of this book was my professor. He lived with Garcia Marquez and knew every important aspect of the story. Historical fiction is my favorite genre and Isabel Allende does pretty well with this genre. This is the first time I see your channe,l and I'll be on the lookout for more of your recommendations.

An amazing video! I've been thinking like this lately and one of my goals for 2018 was to read books that I think I'll like and not just because they are popular. And doing that this year I see that I do like other things more than what I used to read because of booktube/bookstagram.
