My wife and I are looking for a way to save money on weekend trips around New England, so I've been looking at a LOT of DIY camper videos. I love your kitchen and pantry solution; it's my favorite design so far. I'm wondering if I could make something with a countertop that has two boards/layers connected by a piano hinge, and the top one flips over to cover the hallway area. I'd have to lower the countertop height so it matched the bed frame, but I think it would work. I like you choice to keep the water outside the cabin. I'll probably leave the sink and grey water outside as well. GREAT JOB! Thank you for sharing!

The hose is designed longer because when you blow down a heavily soiled lawn, your supposed to get that nozzle tip inches from the ground to really blast out the tampered and stomped material. I landscaped for a living for almost 20 years. When you have a blower strapped on your back for 10 hours a day on the spring and fall doing cleanups, you want a long hose so your not bending over all day. Let the machine do the work for you. Sometimes its faster to pull out a rake for tight spots instead of having an extra foot or so hanging off your back fighting to squeeze in

Rangely is about an hour up the road from me and i have a Tacoma but put a plow on the front of it i have a stipe driveway and it's just me, so this is what i do i ask my brother to help me put on the plow and leave it on for the winter. when a storm comes i plow when the snow gets so high then plow again not waiting for the storm to end. because i got stuck before thinking the truck could handle it. Thanks for sharing your story.

Nice job hun!! I did my first truck a few years ago and decked it out, loved it! Unfortunately, a 94 year old gentleman t-boned it and then swirled around and hit it again, totaled. I just got the replacement and working on it now! Keep inspiring. John 3:16!

Gorgeous Earth and a Gorgeous Lady with a Beautiful Soul! Raising my children in the Lakota way, anytime they found something they were willing to carry away, I taught them to make a tobacco offering with prayers to the four directions with gratitude. I never expect others to follow this but it is always good to acknowledge Mother Earth when keeping gifts from her. Young Lady I will never get tired of your soft voice and gentle way in nature. Thank You for sharing! That is a great safe stove/firepit you carry, maybe share who makes it and why you chose it in another video please? You and I share one love; steam rising off a cup or bowl on a chilly or cold day! For me whether camping from a hike, motorcycle trip or out of my camper watching my breath in the air as the day break star peeks over from the horizon makes all the pains go away and life so much more valuable. A steaming bowl of oatmeal to start the day helps greatly, but feeling the chill and seeing the warmth of a fire cannot be explained. With Love, Respect and Admiration, You are in my prayers Hoka Hey

Thanks for asking. I do like. However it’s still a bit new to me as I have had it less than a year, so I’m not sure about the longevity. I do think it’s sturdy for the frame. The grill on top is a little flimsy but workable. It’s not to heavy so it can pack up in a backpack and is useful for day trips. Hope this helps!

Do you find it’s difficult to find areas where you can just start a fire in the woods? I’m in NH and there is not a lot of places you can do it unless you’re at a designated campground
@TheWoodsyWoman

Great question. At times it can be difficult and a bit frustrating when you can’t find a spot. I s end a bit easier in the winter to kindle a fire than it is in the summer or fall month due to fire safety. I tend I hike places where I know I can have a contained fire. I wish you the best in finding more areas around you!

Oh Woodsy, you do such an amazing job with your videos..I can tell they are well planned and thought out. Very relaxing. You really have a skill for this. Nature is always inspiring, eh?! We had a nice warm day in the low 50s which is odd for February but this weekend will be the same so I am going to take my van somewhere in the forest and give it a good cleaning and maybe cook some dinner. I have so much to do so we shall see..I'll at least take a country cruise to the lake. It soothes the soul. I used to hike a lot when younger and loved to do so in the winter because the temp is perfect for being hot and sweaty..hehe. I always look forward to being able to see through the trees when the leaves are gone. I'm not a big fan of winter but maybe when I am living the van life, I will feel differently..I think I will. Thank you for another lovely video. Happy trails!

Some pet store receive fish and critters packed in reflective material, they may give it to you. You can also get it cheap at a dollar store. Use it under your insoles if it is really cold outside. Just don’t get sweaty feet. You can put hot rock in a cast iron pot and add the lid. This will radiate the heat in a small area. If using candles, keep the wicks short so they don’t smoke. Smaller flame but less smoke. Candles work best if a funnel type lid is above it so heat gathers and gets super hot and burns off extra byproducts not burned off at the flame. Plus the “lid” radiates heat for better distribution….well for a candle.

You put your little view poles on wrong, they go at the very edge of the blade so you can see where the end of the plow is from inside the truck…. Just loosen them and slide to the very edge and tighten them.

5:30 I use large plastic soda jugs sealed tightly. They emit a surprising amount of warmth for a minimum of 4 hours, providing the water is very hot to start with...sometime I put a few/several tea light candles under my cot. A sheet draped over it first, before the bedding, traps the warm air...

Sounds like you nailed it. Good ideas. I’ll test out the shiny silver reflective material. It would work well with this stuff Walmart sells for a sleeping pad. I tell everyone that’s crafty handy with an analytic mindset. Its blue, ½ thick, 20-22” wide, 5 feet long, something like that, I’m going from memory. Cuts with a utility knife or scissors. Perfect for a straight edge. I could easily see like a long 6-inch strip just along the perimeter of the sleeping bag. It's soft, so like if you roll over it in your sleep it won't wake you up in the middle of the night, thanks to not having a hard edge being pliable and all. Different application. Giant popcorn can with Santa or wintry scenes on it, sold around Christmas time for gifts. Because it's like about 1,000 LBS of popcorn, it's a huge can, give them away to get them out of the house so they don't eat the whole thing out of self-preservation. Cut the blue material up and line the can. Cut circles for top and bottom. Holds a gallon of milk in the summertime, keeps it cool in the car. Or a kayaking, canoeing, dry bag. Line the inside with this Ozark Trail Closed Cell Foam Blue Camp Sleeping Pad, It has amazing insulation value. Amazing R value. I wouldn't want to sleep on it, but you can do a lot of cool things with the material. Like take coolers and give them extra insulation. The downside of this material is it absorbs water and crushes. Yet seeing it crushes it makes a tight conforming dry seal at the top and bottom. Glue gun works, messy and melts but strong bonds. I cut a piece about 12-18 inches long 20-22 inches wide put it on the table. You can put a hot plate right on it keeps it warm. It might melt it a little bit. Put the cold beverage on the same material and it keeps that cool. Take a collapsible cooler and just put as many layers in as you want. 100° sun at the beach, frozen water bottles inside. No problem. Keeps food cold for a long time. Cut them up into little pieces. 1l4 by 1/4 make like a bean bag like a duck hunter hot seat. Give 100% coverage around the item you want to keep cool or warm. Kinda like packing material. I’m thinking about gluing some to a piece of plywood and gluing on your shiny silver stuff to the outside. And a heavy piece of vinyl, maybe like picnic table patterns on the other side. It's cool to be able to work with your hands, figure fabrication concepts out and make stuff. Keep on rock’n in the snow world
