I am so inspired by your setup! It puts my Subaru Outback camper to shame! Something to look forward to with my solo camping endeavors!

Now this is absolutely awesome! You did such an amazing job on the planning and building of it! It definitely has that tiny cabin feel to it... and best of all, you can drive it to (and on) your adventures! Love the flower box/spice rack by the way! Two thumbs up 👍👍 Looking forward to an inside tour if and when you post one!

Woodsy..Just came upon your channel. Fantastic build. I echo all the positive comments. A few questions: Do you do this full time? Work during the week and camp on weekends/vacations? How do you heat or cool the cabin? During your initial build did you do anything special (close up all the smallest openings) to ensure the little critters cannot find a way into the cabin body? Can you close the tailgate from inside or do you close it up and then enter truck? Can you access cabin from the drivers area? Keep up the adding your adventures.😀

Thanks for your questions! I don’t live in it full time. I’m mostly only adventuring in the weekends or sometimes longer trips once or twice a year. I can’t access the cab of the truck from my cabin… maybe in an emergency I could squeeze through? The tailgate doesn’t close at night. I keep it open. I did my best to close the gaps so critters don’t come in. It’s not 100% critter proof though. I have seen a little mouse join me at a camp site. He was mostly interested in my paper goods! Happy camping!!

Mine is built out of birch plywood scraps and 1x1/2” furring strips, I really like the drawer idea I may be stealing that from you😅 I was going to clad in cedar shake and get a small window mad for the side of my door but my mains door is bigger. It’s a window dual pain insulated salvage. It’s so similar to what I was planning to do with my truck your is a little bit smaller but way nicer! How did you insulate?
@freedomtowander Жыл бұрын
Great job by the way!

Thanks so much! The drawer makes all the difference, go for it… it’s helpful to have as much storage as possible. I insulated with refectix and .5 ridged foam insulation. Good luck!
