Hi, After loading the library, the image on the screen with the inscriptions arduboy activator runs and twitches. What is the reason?
@megazoid9 күн бұрын
You mean loading the flash-image.bin (the games) to the flash? or the bootloader? You may have not applied the SSD1309 display patch perhaps? In the Activator, go to the "Options" drop down menu and select "Apply SSD1309 display patch".
@user-ch1gd4mq5o9 күн бұрын
@@megazoid I mean the flash-image.bin entry. On the arduboy screen, some settings, and it says that the mod chip is not found, the image is twitching.
@megazoid9 күн бұрын
@@user-ch1gd4mq5o I didn't have this sort of problem. Hard to know what is happening. I bought "TZT 1.54 inch 7 pin SSD1309 screens" and they worked fine. I used W25Q128FVSG (Winbond) for the flash. Both from Aliexpress. Make sure the W25Q128FVSG flash chip is the right way around. There is a dot on the PCB near the flash. Make sure the flash chip "dot" is next to the PCB dot. @megazoidАй бұрын
The second board? ArduBroFX-ProMicro-Regular? if it's that one, the "Burn bootloader" instructions are the same as Mr.Blinky's DIY Arduboy GT project (link on my oshwlab page). Both projects I listed have good instructions on burning an ArduboyFX bootloader. The Teensy and ProMicro-Regular : * From the tools menu select Board > Arduboy versions > Arduboy * From the tools menu select bootloader > Cathy3K (starts with menu) * From the Tools menu select your programmer (Arduino as ISP when using an Arduino) Burn bootloader ProMicro-Alternate-Wiring Very different Arduino IDE settings. Refer to the settings shown on the "Arduboy DIY with FX" hackster project (link on my oshwlab page).

Hi, I really liked your project! Where can I find the gerber file?
@megazoidАй бұрын
I thought people would probably create a Gerber using the Fabrication tool in EasyEDA (Fabrication menu > PCB Fabrication File(gerber) ). However, I've now added the ready made Gerber's to the OSHW Labs project page (link in description) at the bottom as attachments. Pick the one you want. The boards are regular thickness (1.6mm). All tested and working, but build this project at your own risk 😉

Why would you be using such awkward kind of 32u4 board? I've never head of it before. Chinese pro micro are much much more common and cheaper, come with micro usb or even type-c.
@megazoid2 ай бұрын
The Teensy 2.0 doesn't need any additional components to be Arduboy FX compatible (apart from a flash chip). A pro micro would need a transistor and a couple of resistors (or breakout wires from the 32u4 chip) to be Arduboy compatible. Unless you go for "alternate wiring", which means the games need to be compiled for alternate wiring.

You could add a p type mosfet between BAT and VIN that would disable BAT if VIN is high. This would allow you to remove the physical switch and both power / program directly from the Arduino USB port.
@megazoid3 ай бұрын
There probably (almost certainly) is an electronic way of doing it. My switch just moves USB positive from from the TP4056 (Lipo charger) to VBUS on the Pro Micro (or whatever ATMega32u4). D+ and D- are permanently connected to the secondary USB port. I want the Pro Micro off while I'm charging. I'm a rookie, but I can't totally see a mosfet working. There might be a way to incorporate the "fully charged" signal into then allowing programming mode, but that's kind of a lame idea. You could be right with your P type mosfet and I'm just not getting it. 😆

The other time I've had a slightly delayed glitch was when using a really cheap (fake Lenovo) $2 microSD card from Aliexpress (some of their cheap cards are ok).
