Still don't understand that "drop-off" system. As constructed it will drop-off on any drill of a carp. So, how many lead are you prepared for to drop into the water and pollute it? Better show us the sold bag system without the drop-off lead system.
@mikesparksangler
@mikesparksangler Ай бұрын
@johanwithag2432 it's specifically for fishing into heavy weed, I use this concept a lot and the lead doesn't eject until it comes into real strain. Hardly ever lose leads on normal takes. But when the fish is in heavy weed I will only just put the tail rubber on so as soon as the fish has taken the bait and shaken the lead off, the fish then comes right up in the water and allows you to clear all the weed for safety.

@thecarpfather5757 it does seem to work well in Winter but I think that's because when the leaves fall in Autumn there is a lot of debris on the lake bed so the chod lends itself perfectly to these kinds of situations. But equally I will use it in the summer over any heavy weed

Yes, mate, I always prefer a straight point these days, i find the hook up ratio to be much higher. I nearly always go for a size 4. But as of this year, I've been using the Caperlan Chod hooks in size 4. They're crazy sharp, really strong, and a bit lighter

@mikesparksangler

You need to use a baiting needle and either a pre-drilled pellet or drill out a pellet and pull the hair loop through the bait. So the hair goes through the centre of the pellet and then trap it in place with a bait stop

Mate that's the hardest way I use a 360 bait screw with a swivel built in to the screw and tungsten hook beads and tungsten chod bead the swivel on the leader is a QC swivel the chod bead slides over the swivel to stop the loop coming off 1 figure of 8 knot 3 and a 3 turn grinner knot to tie the hook on
@mikesparksangler
@mikesparksangler Жыл бұрын
Sounds practical mate, I'm sure all those bits work but the reason I tie this is to reduce the metal components and make everything lighter and more sensitive. Cute fish are certainly more sensitive to metal, their lateral lines are finely tuned.

@aarondavies8486 Жыл бұрын
@mikesparksangler I have the same amount you do you use a swivel on the hook same as me but its a plastic bait screw that has the swivel you use built in to the plastic bait screw so no need for the D part and you use a bead try tungsten beads they are rubber impregnated with tungsten no need for putty or shot
@mikesparksangler
@mikesparksangler Жыл бұрын
@aarondavies8486 ah nice, sounds good mate. Cheers for the idea. I like the putty because it covers the knot and the "perfect loop knot" because it sits dead straight. Just a preference but I must admit I've tried a lot of different ways in the past. 😂
