I fish Newlands regularly I normally go to the beach swim what’s your opinion on what ground bait to use ?

It's a great little day ticket water to fish, the deep water makes for interesting fishing. The beach swim is a great peg under the right conditions and to be honest I fish zigs a lot there especially in the cold conditions because the fish hold up in the layers, so i fish with no freebies but when I fish on the deck I tend to fish just boilies and corn. It's more about finding the right spot than what bait you use because the steep slopes down into deep water mean your rigs and bait will move if you don't fish flatter spots. Boilie chops and corn settle down nicely if that helps.
