Hello, i just comment to say a big thank you, either you stop or take a break from posting, i just watch the video and saw your comment about people looking untill the end doesn't suprise me at all. As a total beginner who bought a lot of tutorial and being disapointed by most of them, the amount of knowledge with clear explanation you are displaying about how the node work and not just pluging them one after another without the " WHY " is just amazing. Thank you again !

this is soooo helpful honestly thank you! I was just trying to get that "flat top" feel 2 days ago and it took soo many steps and the result was not good and certainly not controllable.

Do you sell assets or courses on any other websites? I really liked your Great BIG NPC on arstation. Looks like something that would fit in "No Rest for the Wicked"!

In the beginning you mentioned about building your own satin into the shader instead of using the metalness %50 hack. Could you do a tutorial on how you would go about doing that the proper way? I'd like to see your game engine friendly approch. Also, your starting shader ball has more detail, I increased the tessellation but it still doesn't have the same look. Cheers.

Great Video. I appreciate how you really break down how these nodes work and explain the thought process using them. These are the best Substance Designer videos I've found on KZbin. Thanks for making these.

What if I want to use this to make crack alphas (like single or dual or three sided cracks) without the lines running outside the square box? Does removing the dots created by the tile sampler using a mask at the edges remove the lines to the cracks that go outwards?

I don't know if you retired from video but you shouldn't, just found this channel and its one of the best designer resources. The 'why' we do it is so important. Would love to see more videos! Do one on the tile nodes.

When Histogram Scan isn't enough for getting a clean line, I suggest adding a Blur HQ before, a little bit of intensity makes the rough edges disappear. Thanks again for the videos, Johnny

your videos are amazing I'm watching all of them, hope you comeback to keep making these tutorials, they are all straight forward and I felt that I'm really understanding what I'm doing instead to only coping the nodes to achieve a similar result

I'm more than a little disappointed you stopped making content. You're teaching methods are clear and concise, and you manage to make processes easy to understand regardless of their complexity. You are my main source of learning in regards to Designer and I hope you decide to starting making content again soon or I'll be lost!

One issue I have found with this method is occasionally the tile generator will make 2 squares the same color and edge detect will join them, I think a slightly better method is just have the tile generator place large paraboloids with max blend mode into an edge detect.
