Best healing wishes for Richie, Sharon. I hope he recovers quickly from his stroke, and it's a little easier to manage time and priorities. Like you, I'm also a knitter, and I remember buying all the things when I started in 2014. I have 8 sets of circular needles and, literally, a store in my walk-in closet. I swore I wouldn't repeat that madness with cross stitch when I picked it up again after 40 years. I bought 4 kits and 3 patterns in July and have finished 2 of them. I will not buy anything else until they are finished. I promise. 😅

Sharon...happy to see you... so sorry about your husband's strokes...I had three strokes in a weekend in 1999...it is a devastating medical condition for the family...praying for you and your family ❤❤

It's called assisi work where the motifs are not stitched, but the background is. Hope this helps. I've also stopped buying stash. I’m so sorry to hear about your husband! I hope his recovery is going well and that he will be home soon. I LOVE your videos and stitching and have missed seeing them. I understand about not buying anything else to add to your stash. I look at mine and feel like it is obscene! I’ll never get around to stitching it all and it clutters my mind to look at it all! Next year will be stitching from my stash and not buying much of anything.

First time here and we just wanted to say we hope your husband is on the mend and we are thinking of you. Also we loved your video as loved your Stitchy style, you have inspired us to give samplers ago.

I told my stitchy friends during an in-person stitch recently that I wanted to be a stitcher, not a collector. I keep my collecting to Star Trek. I have been going a little wild this year and put myself on a chart fast after August Market.

Hi. Your channel just popped up as Im sitting stitching and I am so glad it did. I love love love your work and choice of patterns but the Peacock, unicorn and badger wow that made my heart skip a beat. Im new to cross stitching but am just working on my second Modern folk Embroidery (I have only chosen small ones though!!). I have never seen a cross stitch that is more beautiful than the peacock one though, I would love to work on that. I dont have a stash although do have a lot of DMC as I do alot of other embroidery, but is so tempting when you watch all the floss tube channels!! I keep thinking ...maybe just one project bag 🤣🤣🤣. I really hope you do another video (I have subscribed) and I hope you and all your family become well, healthy and happy x

I'm with you on scanning charts and importing into Markup. I haven't stitched from a paper chart since I started using Markup. Please make more videos more often. Almost everything you've shown, I'm also stitching and I love your work. Praying for your husband and hoping he is improving and feeling better. And, I'm with you on stitching what I have. I'll never get the ones I have here stitched so no need to buy more unless it's like you said . . something I HAVE to start NOW!

Hoping your husband heals quickly! Not only will it be a good thing for him, but it also will give you more room in your brain to enjoy life! Like you, I prefer PDFs to paper patterns. In fact, my stash of paper patterns fits in a plastic file box. Also like you I scan my paper patterns but I export them from a document file as a PDF before opening in MarkUp. Files I create myself in StitchFiddle or PCStitch don't come with a pretty Materials list like purchased patterns, so I export the file as a jpg so I can make a better Key than what those programs produce and then position it where I want it to appear in the final PDF.

Found you for the first time today. Boy am I glad! I started around 2020 also but had FOMO y really bad. I have way, way too many charts all kitted up. I need to thin things down as I am 76 and my tastes have evolved in the fast couple of years. I love samplers too. Today I am using NPI for the first time…WOW… do I love stitching with it. I started realizing this over consumption of material things that is so prominent in the US is no longer where I want to be in life. I have spent this year reducing what I have in general and no longer buying what I considered “collecting” in the past. It’s so freeing! No judgement to others- everyone has their passion in life! I think I have saved quite a bit of money this year. Cheers.
