NIce. Too bad Toyota didn't use the xB body for the 2nd gen and just drop a 2.0 in an updated 1st gen body. The second gen is actually the body of a Corolla Van from Japan.

I call mine a refrigerator with wheels, because mine is white. I have a 2010 got it new from the dealership and I have the same story. My car have never left me stranded. I've added the spoiler on the back lift gate and the Scion sticker on the back bumper. The race muffler because it looks fantastic. The GPS satellite Alpine radio with the DVD. I had a few more upgrades like the aluminum rims as well. Mine burn a lot of oil. That's what I hate the most on my Scion Xb. They are very very reliable, that's for sure. I've taken it from Key West FL all the way up north to Ontario Canada. Great car. The car is very easy to do any kind of work. Lots of room in the engine compartment as well. I think I just went past 132000. I had those same exact seat covers. Thanks for sharing.

2015 shouldn't have the oil burning issue by the way. My xB, my wife's, and the 2012 are slow for the AC to come on. So is the Lexus RX I have. This is common. But the going warm at idle is either low refrigerant or something else.

@@theoriginaljimmykicker all xBs from 2008-2015 have the potential to burn oil according to Toyota’s TSB
@theoriginaljimmykicker27 күн бұрын
We have 4 of these. 2 5 speeds and two autos. The 2008 looks like a 2.5 as it's wearing the parts from a 2012 xB that a tree fell on. The 2012 runs and drives and legal, but it's wearing all the crap parts from the 2008 and the interior is in my black 2009. The 2012 crushed car has a lift and big tires on it. Fun car. It only has 80k miles. The last one we have is a 2013 10 Series. Unique gray color for those. Only 2300 made. It, the 09 and the 08 all burned a lot of oil. I solved it with Berryman's b12 piston soaks. The 09 uses a quart every 5600 miles now vs 300 miles. The 08 uses no detectable oil. I just did the 13. It has 200k miles on it.

My blue 2015 just hit over 60k miles. I do like those rear lights. Did those Siberian bushings soften the ride out at all. I've always found the Xb to have a harsh suspension for road bumps. I want a cushier ride over the road, and I'm probably close to the time to swap out the shocks/struts, so I'm looking for things that will soften the ride. That's the only reason I've avoided the sway bar.
@thebluexbАй бұрын
@@joefog964 the sway bar and the Siberian bushings tightened everything up when cornering. I didn’t notice any more stiffness in the ride, but new shocks will probably make it stiffer. Mine is uncomfortably bouncy with new front struts at 80k and original rear shocks at 108k.

I have a red 2013 xb and be aware that you'll end up burning oil eventually. I have 150,000 and it started at 130,000. Sooo check that oil regularly. Otherwise its been pretty reliable, never left me stranded (except a battery which was my fault) in the 13 years i had it
@theoriginaljimmykicker27 күн бұрын
Watch my video on this issue. You can mostly resolve it with a Berrymans B12 cylinder soak. I've done it on 3 of these and had very impressive results. My 09 used a quart every 300 miles. Now about a quart every 5000. Actually a little less. I went almost 6k recently and it used about a quart.

09 scion xb close to 120,000 manual transmission. Running well doing regular oil maintenance every 5K. I just replaced the sparkplugs and also just dropped $1600 to replace the clutch and flywheel, trans fluit replaced for the 1st time. I always have an issue with 3rd gear I have to be really careful to shift to 3rd gear... Anyone having similar issues?
@theoriginaljimmykicker27 күн бұрын
grinding? Our 08 did it a lot when we first got it at 160k shifting into 4th. Sometimes 3rd. It seems to have mostly repaired itself though since that time. Currently at like 307,000.

My 2015 xb has AC problems too. It takes a long time to start cooling, about 15-20 mins. But when I accelerate onto a highway, going into high RPM, it starts cooling faster. I think it maybe a ac compressor problem rather than evaporator core. For other mods, you should get a broadway convex mirror ~$20. Really helps with visibility.

Enjoyed your Video. I owned a 2006 & 2008 XB. First New Cars 👉I payed cash for. (2006 was 14K in 2005) ( 2008 was 18K in 2007 ) Cheap enough to pay cash......And my 2021 Highlander AWD Hybrid platnum was 58K cash 2020. My wife and I had to split the cost 38K & her 20K. Love them All. I gave the 2008 XB to my Brother as it did not get driven enough. Cars go down hill if they sit. I changed the oil every 3K miles. Toyota replaced the Rings as a Recall. I told them it was using oil and they tried to put extra oil in it and sealed it so I couldn't check it. When I asked them if they just put extra in it. they got scared I caught them when I asked to check it. They said the factory put the wrong rings in on some of the years of XBs. What I disliked on that car was the Projector lights gave very poor lights. The halogen lights got to hot and burnt the coating on the headlight housing. I tried LEDs that helped very little. I have low profile 19" BMW wheels with Tires in my Garage If you would like them. They are $$$$ Black VOX (10 spoke) chrome rims. I bought two cameras with a two view mirror for the XB and never put them in. My Daughter is now using on her M-Benz Sprinter Van. I wanted to mount the tiny camera in each of the small speaker boxes on the door. So they stay inside pointing to the blind spot on each side. And have the Monitor Mirror on the dash. Special Mirror that images could be fliped. I had a HUD (Heads up Display) on the Dash that projected on windshield > Speed, RPMs, Gas, It was great Cost me $35.00. The Factory one on my Hylander gives posted speed limits also. I would hate to be without it now. Make sure you keep the (Oil changed) and (all Air filters) ( Life Blood to car ) All the new Cars are loaded down with Oxygen sensors all over the Engine. They get dirty you will pay dearly, . Even over filling your gas tank can knock out a sensor and pump. Replace PVC valve, and Gas Cap if you start having any trouble. Cheap Fix. Toyota will replace them after charging you for stuff you never needed.

You mentioned the driver side sun visor. I had same problem. It was caused by me having one of those pouches to keep your driver license and registration strapped to the visor. The visor has an internal rachet (the click noise) that keeps it in place when pushed to the top. Appears the additional space caused by the add on kept it right on the rachet click spot. To fix it had to order a new one, got it from online toyota of colorado springs. It doesnt have that rachet click and fixed it grate but pricey, $80. Easy to put in, you can find another video about snap the plate on top outward then it pulls out. Tricky to get it back in tight and now it won't rotate to left but does stay in place fine. Probably because I did not push the insert in all the way.

My 15 doesn’t burn oil. I have a 5 speed, pretty quick, too. I love it. Cool Army Rock (the brown) color. My only gripe is the low roof. Seeing above. Like traffic light, is a bitch. The Broadway mirror helped with back pillars. The fuel economy is so so. I’ll keep it a very long time! I love the interior, gauges, seat material design, space, good handling, and the 5 speed manual makes it more efficient as well as engaging.

I've had more than a few occasions where I didn't see a pedestrian on the curb (luckily without any incidents). @@thebluexb unfortunately I think I wasn’t aware of the piston soak until it was too late.
