Hi Irene, I’m a big fan of your channel! It’s been super helpful for me on my swimming journey. I have a quick question for you. When you exhale during freestyle swimming, do you recommend exhaling completely or just half of your air before you inhale? I’ve seen some conflicting advice online.

Thanks for your video. By the way, I get very close to the bottom of the pool especially when I come to the end of the pool. Do you've a solution so that I can keep a good distance and navigate underwater correctly?

I am 77 and I live in Portland Oregon USA. I have never been a swimmer so I am taking adult beginner swim lessons. I am learning the breaststroke so I can breathe forward. I have opted to keep my head out of the water for now. Tomorrow I have my 3rd class and I will try your suggested techniques. Thank you.

When sinking i remembered what you said ,so i touch the bottom of the pool with my feet to come back to the wall. Thank you❤

Thanks for sharing! It shows you have lots of determination. To keep going when you're improving it's one thing, but to keep going when you don't see improvement for a while takes extra strength

Pretty good but I can only do this type of push off on the very first lap of any swim, freestyle especially, because when I flip turn it’s very difficult to get a wide stance. I’m lucky if I don’t twist when I flip turn! Should I change to open turns? Thanks
@irenaannaАй бұрын
I'd work on your flip turns more, they are much faster than open turns. This video is targeting the first lap of any swim, but after the flip turn you want to follow the same rules of pushing off.

In this case it's best to ask an instructor to tell you what you're doing wrong. Alternatively, you could send me a video to my email: [email protected]

Can you please suggest some tips/tricks or anything for easier breathing while doing freestyle? I started learning swimming as an adult and I am starting to think this stroke is not for me. I raise my head to get a big gulp of air, and get water in my mouth and if I try to do it the right way, I practically can drink gallons 😢😢
@irenaannaАй бұрын
Breathing in freestyle is one of the hardest things to learn for adults! If you turn your head the right way but get water in your mouth it means you don't turn enough. Practice kicking on your side.This video should help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnWTXn14a9d3q9k

This is a bit weird to me, I can swim confidently and tread water, but I cannot put my nose underwater without a nose clip or breathing out continuously! If she is such a beginner, how the hell is she just holding her air back without getting water up her nose? That's the hardest part for me! Even when I concentrate on breathing out, I keep messing it up if I try actually swimming underwater, and then I get water up my nose.

I am planning to go maldives and I wanna snorkel. I will have a guide but i have NO swimming experience. Can you make a video on how can I just kinda float with my legs and snorkel without using sophisticated swimming techniques. We wont be snorkelling in really deep water. Your video will be very helpful. And I have subscribed btw 😊
