He is correct. This is the first time where 5 tracks (up and down lines of two lines along with an interchanging loop line) are constructed in a single pillar. I think you are confusing this with interchanging stations which are common to all large metro systems in the world. For example, Alandur interchange in phase 1 of CMRL.

Great effort for ur detail review!! This is absolutely very challenging and very complex bcos of narrow stretch . Not only that. Balancing 4 tracks & 4 trains in a single pillar is very complicated structure and as u said it needs huge foundation. Meanwhile still many youtube bloggers saying alapakkam till alwarthirunagar. Actaully double layer goes further and ends at virugambakkam which zip through kaliamman towrds koyambedu. Hopefully this entire stretch will be completed by 2027 end not less than that even if the work gets carried round the clock. Loop line change over is just in a particular minor junction.May be from valasaravakkam panjayat board till alapakkam. But if we see this 4 km double decker. Its actually 4 track line.

Has the speed between Beach and Park Town improved now? 😢😢😢😢no updates yet on direct services to western/northern suburbs People are suffering a lot although not as before when the trains used to start from Chintadripet. I understood from a news article that MRTS platforms can only accommodate 9 cars and SR is converting most of the 9 cars to 12 coaches. Hence the frequency is low. Also, MRTS vacancies for motormen is high and yet to be filled. Operating in a single line for such a small distance is not at all an issue. Such a silly reason. Dei southern railway....unala aaniya pudunga mudiyalana please handover the MRTS to Metro.soon. With their experience for punctuality, reliable, safe services they will improve the MRTS.
