Poonamalle bypass metro station (first station) on this line is going to become an important gateway station. Passengers coming into chennai from West direction can use this station to travel to any other metro station within the city on the 5 lines.Quick and easy access to all points.

Kudos to CMRL for executing the project in such narrow spaces. People compare the current phase 1 of Chennai metro with other metros in the country. Nobody cares about the GOAT suburban railway which is India's 2nd longest and 3rd busiest. Metro phase 1 is just a compliment to that system. Just an enhancement. Most of the phase 1 routes are already connected by local train or MTC (when some proud cities are boasting about their metro ridership, connectivity to airport, our city had a suburban station built long back - TIRUSULAM 😂😂). Ooruku velila airport vechitu transport iladhavanunga ella alakuranunga parunga yapa.....1000 2000 nu karaka vendiyathu..5-15 rs. Irundha podhum da enga oorla pakuriya...manda badram.... Very nice video update. Thanks for sharing. I was involved in Chennai Bangalore NH 4 laning works 20+ years back and knew about the stretch from Mduravoyal 2 Walajapet. I know each and every Km along the Road. Last 15+ years I am involved in MRT (metro) construction both station, tunnels and Depot construction in Singapore. Singapore going to open one of the biggest Depot 4 in 1 housing trains and buses in 2025.
