Gorgeous dress. What fabric are you using for the lining? I’m not sure if I missed that part. I never know what to use for linings. Also if the outer fabric is stretchy don’t you need a stretchy lining as well for the dress to be a bit stretchy?

Hi there! One more question about the pockets. When you unfold the front piece and you place the first pocket piece - are you putting the pocket's right side, on the right on top of the right side of the fabric? So that the right sides of each pocket and front panel are touching? so technically when you look down at your piece you see the right side of the front panel, and the wrong side of the pocket looking back up at you? This would mean when I place my second pocket piece on top of the first, the right side of the second pocket is up against the wrong side of my first pocket - does this sound right to you? Was a bit confused when you said put the right sides together for both pockets, that wouldn't be possible if you put the right side of the first pocket on the right side of the front panel right? Couldn't quite make that out with the colour of your fleece! Thank you in advance 🙏🏻
@isainstitches18 сағат бұрын
7:15 the fabric is wrong side up. That means that we'll have the right side inside the pocket. 7:34 right side is now up. Does it help?

When you serge the pieces together what is the seam allowance?
@isainstitches20 сағат бұрын
Hi! So the seam allowance is always 1 cm on my patterns (hem allowances are bigger). On my serger I can adjust the seam width from 7 mm to 1 cm. Did I set the seam width on 1 cm during this tutorial? I can't remember for sure, for me this specific garment being bigger by a couple mm wasn't gonna make a difference.
@puffysoccer132413 сағат бұрын
@@isainstitches when you serge the front body at 13:06, it doesn't look like any fabric was trimmed off. So that's why I wanted to know if the seam allowance was different for those serged pieces

Hi! I noticed you had some triangle notches in the collar and the back top panel when sewing the collar on but I’m not seeing any notches on the pattern - any advice on how many to cut and how to space them on the collar pieces? Do I also need to do them around the panel if I do the notches on the collar? Tysm in advance, this is my first sewing project!
@isainstitches4 күн бұрын
Hi! Wait there are notches on the collar, one on each side (to connect to the shoulder seam, let me know if you can't see them) and then a little advice: always notch the center of your pieces (the ones that are symmetrical) by folding the pieces in half and snipping 👌

Were there any issues bonding the interfacing to the fleece?
@isainstitches8 күн бұрын
On the sweatshirt version (in pink) I did set up the iron on too hot, and so we can see a bit the imprint of it on the fabric. Gotta be careful, iron on the wrong side of the fabric, put a thin piece of fabric in between can help. Other than that, no issue!

@isainstitches8 күн бұрын
I think I used an XS/34. My waist is now 66 cm, but it was probably a bit less back when I filmed this. What you can do is measure the waistband on the pattern and see which one is close to your waist girth + some ease

@ anytime I see someone make something with their own two hands, instead of buying it somewhere, I’m always impressed. Taking a vision or concept and making it physical, taking inspiration from something else and making it yours, or making something a fraction of the cost while keep the quality equal or above takes hard-work and persistence. Subscribed and waiting to see more sick clothes.

- Replace the overlocker with the overlocker or the zig zag stitches on your regular sewing machine - Use any cotton fabric you like - No stretch required, but it's often more comfy I recommend to size up! ^^
