I like to think that the villainous team balls, if they were able to be used by the player in the main series games, would have a greater catch rate against pokemon notably used by that team (For example, the Aqua Balls would be proficient at catching the Sharpedo and Mighteyena evolutionary lines) and would have normal catch rates otherwise.

Watching this and the previous ball video back to back and I'm kinda disappointed the messed up Ruby and sapphire pokeball sprites weren't mentioned. The ultra ball sprite in those games has inverted markings. All of them look really weird and I'm glad emerald had resprites for them

Probably the reason why the Dusk Ball was nerfed in Gen 7 was because in Moon and Ultra Moon the day/night cycle is reversed, meaning that during the day it would be night time in those games, so there was the risk of the Dusk Ball possibly being too op, at least in the developers' minds

The most annoying evolution is Shellder's evolution. And I am not talking about Cloyster, but about the appearences Shellder take when they happen to bite a Slowpoke's tail or head making it evolve into Slowbro or Slowking, and their galarian forms. That evolution of Shellder, has been unobtainable since the first games and it is still to this day. Which is weird since the item "Slowpoke's Tail" literally exists, giving them an excuse to make the Shellder evolve without it needing to be attached to the Slowpoke. Heck they could even go the Mantine/Pangoro way, with the need of having a Slowpoke in the party. But I've lost any hope of seeing that Shellder's mutation become its own separate being

What's interesting about Feebas is that it's Beauty evolution is still applicable in all the games that don't have contests! So if you max out a Feebas's beauty in gen 3 and then transfer it up all the way, it will evolve by leveling up in the newest games

I know they aren't balls but the devices from the anime episode with giant Alakazam, Gengar, and Jigglypuff may have been worth mentioning

11:50 You know after I saw how the evolutions where changed in XD it just made me question why they don't just make you need a Sun Stone and or Moon Stone. Since they changed Gleaceon and Leafeon to need a Ice Stone and Leaf stone respectively, I feel like it would just keep that stone evolution theme Eevee has with its Gen 1 Evolutions. I don't think there is a pre existing stone that perfectly works for Sylveon though... maybe Shiny Stone? It evolves a couple fairy types already.

Always wanted the crystal pokeballs from the entei movie in an actual game, when i saw terra pokemon for the first time i was hoping we would get something like it to catch em in like how ultra beasts have beast balls.

For some reason whenever someone mentions Pokeballs outside the games, I ALWAYS, without fail, think of the Dark Ball first. Maybe because of its unique design and the awful things it does to Pokemon. Also I saw the Celebi movie as a kid so it stuck with me more I guess. I kinda wish they would appear again.

Man I wish more pokeballs were available in mainline games. The amount of creativity one can have with pokeball and pokemon pairings would be astronomical.

This was a very cool and detailed dive into the nom game pokeballs, very fun watch, great job man. My only critique would be you seemed to be speaking pretty fast, and while I am sure that helped make the video not drag on too long, it was just a little jarring jumping between balls so quickly. But like I said, it still was a very fun watch

One you missed that showed up in both the anime AND games is fishing poles with Pokeballs on the end of the line, almost like lures. The Fisherman class has it in their sprites in some gens, and there was even a trainer in the anime that sent out a Kingdra i believe using a rod when he fought Ash in a competition during the Johto arc.
