How do you keep the bottom end together when revving so high? I do not see a girdle or ladder caps to keep the crank happy. Is it only because you are doing quick pulls and not sitting at those rpm's?

Never said it, but thanks for your meticulous presentations. Nice and dry, just like your humor!:) Hope you keep it up! Also wondering if your following Tomitaku-san's 4AR project (i.e. busa head on a 4A block) and what your take on it is? Cheers from Sweden!

More important to note is that the longer rod hangs on for approx 500rpm longer - that's huge on a competition engine ! tune out the dip at top end and you've got a winner

My jerra bliksem swaar! Where's the bell mouths into and out of the airbox!? There studies on the net about how much it helps. Like 10% IIRC. They all say the same thing: Quarter Ellipse where the whole ellipse has a 3 to 1 ratio and mouth diameter is 2.1 x throat diameter. Also 7 degree Static Pressure Recovery into the airbox and Ram air... Moet ek jou kom leer swat of wat!? :)

It doesn't matter as much when the pipes are oversized for application. the airfilter also has an internal radius / bellmouth. if want to see how belmouths and the likes react i have lots of videos testing just that on my na engine

Can you tell me do you run your good engine to 10000 rpm on a forged crank or is it a std crank. Can you still get forged cranks?

Terrific video as always, it does make me wonder if the potential gains are not from vacuum pressure but from evacuating the oil/air mixture from the crankcase and reducing windage losses. If you ever take requests for videos, I'd love to see this engine with standard steel, and zero-clearance teflon crank scrapers on it!

What do you mean °BTDC?. You mean you get more power if you start ignition way before the piston hits TDC?. Is it not the other way (until a certain point). You try to retard the signal so that the piston does not have to go against the ignition that is already taking place (which is already creating a downward force), also not too much due to optimal compression?. Why does everybody say that you need to retard it but in your test you advance it?. I did it myself but got higher power by retarding the signal not advancing it, and defintiley not 30°. Am I missing something? If so could you please clarify it?
@Garage4ageАй бұрын
It takes time for the fuel to ignite and start making significant pressure. So yeah pretty much ever combustion engine will have the ignition event before top dead center. some engines have a combustion chamber that promotes faster burn and will need less advance. or if same engine is making more power it na tuned or power adder it usually needs a little less advance to make best power

Wouldn't the vac pump only provide benefits to a motor if its experiencing issues with combustion pressure escapi g past the rings already? I mean if the motor is running really all and not experiencing any real blow by past the rings you wouldn't expect gains from a vac pump.

@jozopsenak6028 it follows the power. More power = leaner. Less power = richer. If out of the window where makes the same power afr wise. I add or remove fuel

Excuse me, just one question, if I disconnect the 12v connector, will the ducts always be closed? thank you
@Garage4ageАй бұрын
this was the last time i played with tvis. so not 100%, but yes i think that's how it works, vacuum closes them and the solenoid releases the vacuum to open them. if you disconnected the hoses would be open all the time
@nonsense0233Ай бұрын
A good test will be with bigger injectors that will be used in low duty cycle (lower than intake valve duty cycle) . Maybe you will find some diferences in hp there by altering injection timing
@Garage4ageАй бұрын
they are pretty big already, 980cc running at about 40% at max power, which is under the advertised intake cam duration
