I live in the _ONLY_ major TV market in Texas that doesn't carry Me TV. Our sister city in New Mexico carries Me TV, but I can't get their OTA signal. We used to have Me TV, but the local Sinclair affiliate replaced it with MyNetwork TV {which I _don't_ watch and is a "skipped" channel on my TV) early last year. I miss Svengoolie, but I can't justify a FriendlyTV subscription just for Me TV. For now I watch the Creature Features channel live stream on Saturday nights. Meh, it's not the same.

I had SlingTV back when is was only $35 a month. I dropped my paid subscription right after the price went up to $40 monthly. Not so much because of the price increase, but because I realized I was doing the same thing I used to do when I had cable, which was just endlessly switching from channel to channel looking for something interesting to watch. Now I pretty much just watch PlutoTV. They've got all the major news outlets live plus a lot of other content. Only watch OTA sparingly, mostly NBC prime time on Wednesdays and Thursdays and NFL games on CBS, FOX , NBC and MNF on ABC when it's broadcast OTA. Local news seems like it's mostly coverage of car and motorcycle accidents, and house fires. That and feel-good fluff pieces. I just tune in for the top story or stories and then I'm out.

Antenna for local tv and Netflix is all you need. When get bored with Netflix switch to Appletv+.

If buying isnt owning, then pirating isnt stealing. Especially when they increased the price and you still get stuck with ads. Ill stick with on the air tv, with a converter and a projector and use a raspberry pi nas server and stream pirated content 😂

It seems like you are using an amplifier in every antenna test. The amp should only be used on excessively long cable runs. Running without the amplifier will probably get better results.

I just tried to order from ness electronics and the price was good but they add $350 for shipping to Maryland & you can’t get this antenna on Amazon anymore - strange, right?

They should've done this in the 1980's to early 1990's max. What should've been done is to order all TV stations located on channels 2 to 6 to move to channels 70 to 83 which should've never been decommissioned in the first place and expand FM radio down to 72-88 MHz.

I once had PS Vue for sports networks, it was originally cheap until Sony added local channels that I didn’t want since I already got them for free via antenna! They raised prices too much, I canceled them just months before Sony shut down Vue! Also I recently cancelled Netflix because of recent price hikes, I mostly watch Tubi because they’re getting more good movies!

Sports fan here. I signed up for Sling on the four months 199 sports deal. Will be dropping Sling Blue and sports extra when that promotion is over. A note on the package, Sling Orange gives you a lot of college football with ESPN. The Blue packages gives you FS 1 and the Big Ten channel. It was worth an extra ten bucks to prepay to get it. In the future I could easily live without Sling Blue and sports extra during college football season. I subscribe to NBA League Pass but I need to keep Sling Orange to get the nationally televised games not on League Pass. I will pause Sling Orange during the summer months as T-Mobile gives me the MLB package for my T-Mobile Home Internet subscription and that is enough sports for me during the summer months. I want to keep patronizing Sling because it rewards the folk willing to put up an antenna for OTA channels.

I'd like a service where you only pay for what you use. I don't watch 'sports'. It would force the supplier to provide content that viewers would want to watch. I've been waiting for Stranger Things Season 5 for over a year. Netflix should not delay it because they know there is not much else they have that I have not already watched to get me to view their content.

vhf and uhf propagation conditions can change periodically sometimes depending on weather also weak signal reception depends on local interference/ noise floor. do not run your blender while scanning and TURN OFF ALL CHARGERS. modern tvs no longer have add only scan and scanning deletes all previously found channels. this is incredibly stupid. instead of spending more money you should persistently complain to the manufacturers and demand they bring back "add only channel scan" option which does not delete previous scans. they can do that with firmware update you will also be shocked how useless their customer service systems and reps are. Antenna Boy should make a video showing ways to find and eliminate local interference using pocket radios...

I have been installing antennas around Texas for about 6 years. This year has been my busiest year ever. Probably double last year.

I get Frndly TV + OTA channels with a SiliconDust Tuner. Channels DVR is an excellent platform for recording and viewing. I have lifetime Plex but prefer Channels DVR (currently $80 per year). Setting up docker custom channel and EPG sources is easier.

I am wanting to "cut the cord" but need to get educated first. That is why I am watching your channel. Thanks for what you do.

I just bought a Phillips indoor outdoor antenna. Spent 12 bucks climbed my ladder mounted it just under the roof and get all channels within 100 miles. Model number sdv8412b/27. Best 13 bucks I spent all I wanted was fox but I got abc,cbs,NBC X2, plus all the sub channels equalling 33 which is all that is available in my area including weak signal channels that come in crystal clear

My Magnavox MDR513H DVD/HDD Recorder just bit the dust and spending money to get it fixed would be way more than what this Tablo costs, and the Tablo has way more functionality. Its amazing how more interesting KZbin is vs. paid for cable or streaming services. The folks who generate content of their own have way more realism and factual content than todays Hollywood. (Not talking about KZbin TV services).

All content whether OTA or streamed or via cable/satellite that has ads should be at no charge. That's how "cable TV" got its start in the 1970's because folks were tired of the commercials and advertising they were willing to pay a tiny charge to prevent them. Once cable got big, what happens? TV ads started up again and in the recent past they want to offer ad free for even MORE money as they came out with + or plus programming. What a joke, one app or one stream is $9.99 a month ! Most of it is old content, no HiDef, no Surround sound and lousy picture quality. They are a bunch of drunken sailors when they should be more responsible professionals on the subject.
