Little question currently i do have a Priest, a Mage and a Thief. My thoughts Priest -> Monsterw for flat damage with the ability and utility Mage -> Monsterw (same reasons) Warrior tank Could u maybe help me and give some suggestions for improvement ? Thief -> Sage for fast spells

In orginal I used merchant/(gaubot/sage) solider/fighter(Sage) wizard/pilgrim/solider(fighter) In other remakes ive used Merchant/Thief/Sage Thief/Merchant/Gabout/Sage Fighter(solider)/Sage BUt In remake make your toon a Gabout for sage seems useless

I just finished Dragon Quest 2. And really, it's annoying. I want to just play a game on my Switch. I do NOT want to have to get out a stack of graph paper and map out all the levels to figure out where the end of the dungeon is. Thankfully, the maps are on the internet, but I still had to bounce back and forth between the Switch screen and my computer screen just to progress the story. I want to play this while waiting for food at restaurants and in waiting rooms or while waiting in the passenger seat. You can't do that with this style of dungeon crawling. That made sense on your living room floor in 1994, but that's not how these games are played now.

Is it realistic to go for these on NG?

I just lost twice to this boss fight and I'm doing a solo run. I'm gonna have to get the final spell and ability of the hero before I retry.

Is it worth it to do the trials if I have only 42% archetype mastery? Should I just skip doing it my first run and do it on NG+? I am also already in the forsaken tower 😅 if it’s too hard I might just skip it all together. I didn’t play this game for weeks and stopped at this part because I feel so underleveled and not prepared. I have every quest finished except for these dragon trials. I’m also on easy mode because I don’t really want an insane challenge. Right now my characters are ab lvl 56-59 and I have 13 days till the final battle (put an end to the kingdoms madness), so not sure if that’s the final boss fight of the game or not 😅

Well I unfortunately started with a martial artist on my team. I am now around lvl 20. If beating the game is my only objective should I switch to a class and back or just keep him comparatively weak till his krit passive around 47?

I have to say the English dub on the mermaid part is superior. She talks in this rhyming sing-song voice that I didn’t hear in the Japanese

Biggest tip I wish I knew before I did this quest was that on the Devourer of stars to make sure debuffs on him are not maxed out to 3 right away because once it hits full stacks he will take it off right away if you keep it at 2 stacks he will not remove it. The Devourer of nations was the easiest with weakness to fire and deflect on all characters he literally killed himself. Last was the hardest for me. I was only level 65. One tip for last boss is to make sure you debuff him whenever his agility is up only one stack of agility is enough to miss your attacks. Very annoying.

No idea how the Switch gonna run Trails in the Sky remake without exploding, can't believe i'm saying this about a Falcom game out of all things, those developers really came so far Clair Obsur looks like its gonna be the dark horse of this year, it has potential to be one of the greatest western rpgs. Pirate Yakuza in Hawaiis gameplay looks even more insane than Lost Judgements, i love beat em ups so much, leave it to the Mad Dog to start doing aerial combos

I like that the party composition can be so varied in this game. There's pros and cons to whatever party you'll build.

The Dying Fires boss and the one at the volcano sure caught me by surprise because they didn't have a counterpart in the NES version of the game. I remember being very surprised to have to fight a boss battle there in Theddon. I thought I would just take the orb and leave without fanfare.

The Hunter's Moon is the best boomerang in the game.

Also if you like the cinematics in DQXI, then be prepared for DQXII’s cinematics cuz they’re using Unreal Engine 5. DQXI’s is Unreal Engine 4.

DQ3 was the one who pioneered the multi class system while FF3 and FF5 copied and tweaked it. And DQ3 released first before the latter two came out: DQ3(1988) FF3(1990) FF5(1992) Also Dragon Quest has dark narratives just veiled by its wholesome tone and its dark stories are more disturbing than FF cuz FF stories are more sugarcoated(dramatic) type of dark. Thus be prepared for how disturbing DQ is when DQXII comes out(if they managed to retain the dark/mature vision during development).
