One thing I learned the hard way..... Harleys and hammers don't mix. If you need a hammer, it's because something ain't right.

I’m having trouble getting the pin in all the holes seem to align correctly. It just won’t go in all the way i’ve tried tapping it with a mallet hammer and nothing

Wow, made a big deal out of a small job. No need to remove wheel.

NOT the way to do this. Don't need pennies. But you should take out the mounting clevis pin and clean/lube it so it doesn't squeak like yours. Take the fastener and pin out. At the correct forward angle the stand leg and spring will just fall away. No pennies or potentially dangerous high tension pliers to possibly slip and injure you needed.

The belt will ride the high side like a steam engine or farm implement won't it? Which means tighten the side it walks away from or loosen the side it walks to. That's how I adjusted mine.

That washer that you have in between the bearing inside, the hub and the brake panel does not belong

Don't mix tires is an out of date rule regarding not mixing cross-ply with radial ply. Doesn't apply any more. Same as don't ride in the middle of the lane because that's where the oil is, when did you last see a modern car or bike leaking oil.

I cant tell you how many times ive removed my rear wheel without removing the left shock bolt or the adjuster nuts. Not sure why this was done here...

Nice video. I like the fact that you did not need to un-mount the front & back brake calipers first for this task,

The spring connecting to the kickstand should be put through the hole from the opposing direction. The way he installed it isn't entirely wrong, but it's actually too tight and will shorten the life span of the Spring & Bushings considerably.

I would definitely put an old blanket or towel under the rim to keep from scratching it but yeah looks like a clean tire and rim wonder if a man could get away with using a pressure washer i just hate to break the seal and take tire off bike

Nice hack. Thanks. But with that squeak, it sounds like your stand could use some service, cleaning, and grease. It would be a whole lot easier to replace the spring when you remove the bolt and stand.

listening to your rim being scratched to death on the driveway gave me chills. Put it on a 5 gallon bucket and it will spare your rim some damage.

This helps a tremendous amount. Had a 25-yr motorcycle, never cleaned the wheels, took to get fitted for new tire and rear tire held air for a few months and went flat. Never held air again. The wheel is still dirty and I didn’t mount them. This has to be the reason or the change of temperature causes this as well. Just what an educational video.

To anyone who may watch this please don't take off your entire rear wheel just to change your brake pads

Chris, This past April 22' I rode my Dyna, with new tire, all the way from south Texas to LA and no problems. I know the cold impacts the tire pressure because during the hot months I never encountered a problem. Mid Dec 22, rode last night then this AM it was flat! I found 4 bubbling, slow leaks with soapy water on both sides of tire. Valve stem is good, no dents, nails, tears. This gets any worse I'll have to take care of the rusting and dirt with all of them tips you put on here. Keep ya posted, thanks.

I’d have never came up with this brain storm🤨🤣 Just got done with a great ride.. washed my bike, topped off the tank, kicked my stand, and the spring broke.. less then a mile home with my stand dragging and bouncing 😢.. I’ll fix it exactly like this.. thank you for the easy penny trick.. It can be used on other spring problems I’ll bet😋🥳
