Always a fun watch. Is there a speed limit you tend to operate the directional trailer tires? Also, it could be worthwhile to go in more detail about route planning. I know when you do long trips they are prepared by each state it seems, but something like this trip around MTL, is it a pre-planned route by SAAQ, or does the company you work for do the scouting?
@luckybananaheavyhaul340711 ай бұрын
For a load of this size we have a specific route we need to follow. A permit with an approved route is required for any distance, short or far. There is no specific speed limit to operate these trailers but obviously the faster you are travelling the less reaction time the rear steer man has.

One reason i could never do that, CBs/Walkies arent clear sounding enough for me because of what i consider Selective Hearing, if a voice isnt clear enough my hearing sucks, not medically mind you, i just prefer it to be clear lol.

Excellant driving/,teAM WOPRK AND VIDIEO. January 19095 I wa sent to an older industrial area of Mont real topick UP a printing press going tto Houston TX. Iwas givin the load because I could enter Canada. I spoke no French,no GPS,no cell phone,.no maps. The man that purcchsed the press lead me to the factory. He wa the only one that spoke English. The press was rolled out a door on the second floor aND LOWER ED ONTO THE 45 FT TRAILER, secured,tarPed, aND INSPECTED BY A CUSTOMs officer. I was lead out of Montreal by the same man. AT the first right turn I haD TO SLIDE the axleas up to make the tuirn right in the middle of the street. Made the right turn and had no other problems to the US border. US customs was not a pleasnt experience. Onxce in the US II had an uneventfull trip to Houston TX. I made many more trips into Montreal,but my fiorst one was crazy.

It seems to me that the up shifts in low gears are lugging the motor and the shift ecm should be adjusted to allow more acceleration and rpm’s before shifting

Doug, sometimes you must excuse an old man nd his lousy sense of humour, but as good as you're doing, keep it up and you are going to make a hell of a good Oversize driver/operator. Sorry I don't look at a driver/Owner Operator as simply a driver they are an operator which covers a lot more ground!
