Would this be good for tos which keeps tightening all the muscles in my neck in the right side, same side that causes all the arm and shoulder symptoms as well as numbness in the face
@theMSKphysio15 күн бұрын
@madelainamurphy4709 good question. TOS is multifactorial. I'd recommend that patients need to identify the combination of interventions that will work for them. This has the potential to be an aggravating exercise. Neck specific exercises certainly play a role at some point in the journey. Starting with breathing exercises is potentially a friendly place to begin - like this belly breathing here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j17Ug4GBjZmFpZo Here are a couple articles on breathing to consider - www.themusculoskeletalclinic.co.nz/articles/are-you-breathing-to-your-potential www.themusculoskeletalclinic.co.nz/articles/breathing-for-activity

Hi! Th thanks for this video. Very rare to find a video on the topic. My MRI did not show tendinitis and I’ve seen multiple specialists a few of which agreed because of the non-specificity of the MRI and description of my symptoms. That is most likely tenosyvitis of the flexor carpi radialis, not tendinopathy. Would these exercises help with that? Thanks!

Hello! How can I avoid tension on the lower back? The sides of my lower back get super worked up
@theMSKphysioАй бұрын
If the tension is bothersome then try to make the stretch less intensive. Even a medium intensity stretch will have similar range increases to a high intensity stretch. When stretching something at high intensity, other muscles will tense up. The goal here is softness. Hope that helps!

I had a misdiagnosed whiplash that was treated as a concussion and I was in bed for basically 15 months laying down 17 hours a day and my neck and body atrophied. I’ve had all sorts of symptoms because apparently the other muscles compensating. 24 yrs old attime of the injury, previous college wrestler, so a very strong body, but I was told by my physical therapist friend that the deep flexors are extremely atrophied Hoping this routine will help because my SCM is so tight that when I hold my head up for any period of time I get woozy and have difficulty thinking, restrictive mobility. Can even give burning nerve pain behind the eyes top of the skull down my shoulders, and also been diagnosed with intermittent convergence excess which I never had before.

i am 50 years old , taught myself the splits after watching van damme back in 1988 , i can still do a mean side and front split , although people differ in what they think is best positionally for the hips it is a physiological and ergonomical fact that tilting the pelvis opens up for greater range of flexibility - Thomas Kurz very worthwhile videos on this subject matter .

I notice you don't lower your head down to the ground when moving your eye socket away from the shoulder. What are your thoughts on lowering the head back until it slightly touches the ground, with a slight pause while holding the head off the ground? Any dangers or cons to this? I feel like I get a heavier workout as its a heavier lift and more range to cover.
@theMSKphysio3 ай бұрын
@ReelEC nice pick up. As you've noted, just increased effort/work. No dangers in most cases. If one has a history of neck related structural injury, neurological or vascular compromise I'd encourage checking in with a local professional 😊.

@theMSKphysio Thanks for your swift response, and thanks for posting this exercise as well. It is a rare find. People typically recommend supine chin tucks for scalenes or isometric side head presses and lateral neck flexion, but this exercise you recommended works them better as well as traps and levator scap potentially.

too much weight on the rear delt fly deck, never specifically trained it and put on 47kg/about 105lbs, did a full extension, and it stung a little bit on the second set. immediately stopped and lowered the weight by a bunch. 2 reps, stopped again, identified the pain, dropped it to a few kilos to check again. did other exercises to isolate other shoulder muscles and recheck the location of a possible injury through a method of elimination. it must be the rear delt (posterior delt). it must be a tiny tear or some kind of strain. nothing popped or fell out of position. i can still do the movement but it doesn't feel good (stings) at higher weights. will now implement a shoulder health and strength routine (lower weights, slow progression) for the next 6-8 months at least. been checking for material for me to try out. thank you for your generosity in putting out resources and knowledge for free. subbed of course, hope that helps you. be well
