Alexa Household has gotta be the dumbest implementation I've seen. I can only set a commute for one "profile", the Amazon account holder who's now in their fucking 70s and retired, and I can't get the POS to remove my Alexa Household profile without completely getting removed from their Amazon account, which I have to be on to make sure they're getting what they need as I'm now their caretaker. So damned stupid.

That alarm gave me a heart attack. I wake up to it every morning and it’s engrained in my head as the worst noise. It works though!

So, question. I have Verizon and an iPhone. I will download the Alexa App, sync my contacts and then what. Does the Echo somehow connect to my iPhone or because it is connected to Wi-Fi, is that how it works? I am setting this up for my mother and just want it to be as simple as possible.

I've owned the old Echo Spot for about 4 years. I bought it as a handsome clock with a voice activated alarm. It does these well. What I can't stand is that most of the time it's not showing me the time but instead showing me adverts for "Joke of the day" or "Animal noises" or some equally trivial garbage I have no interest in. There appears to be no way of turning this off. To make matters worse the screen flickers constantly.
