That's the The Church's self-titled debut on the Carrere label. I've been looking for a clean copy of that original cover, which differs from the U.S. alternate release. It seems you actually came across a copy of it at 5:46. I'm not sure if you missed it or if that's the same copy you purchased.

No doubt , Legends!! But #NewOrleans and #Memphis had a pivotal role on the genesis of #Funk style : New Orleans bring the blend of nice fusion of old R&B with #afrocuban music , via #ProfessorLonghair bringin the polyrhythms and #16thnote composition palette and the syncopated method of #Secondlinedrumming derived on #boombap foundation with #GetOutMyLifeWoman by #LeeDorsey (written by #Allen Toussaint) . Memphis had their "alternative primigen Funk " also with the pony jump Soul of #BookerTandTheMGs on Stax records (Listen "Boot Legged" 1965).

I could easily add the Humming chorus to my list. Puccini was a master at emotional music. But my first choice is, and have been for 50 years, the fourth symphony by Jean Sibelius. Music doesn't come any darker than this. And maybe some pieces from the soundtrack to Arjuna by Yoko Kanno, like the lovely "Bells For Her". Kanno is a genius. You talked about Pat Meheny in an earlier video and I would choose his song "Roots of Coincidence". Why? Because it is unusual as it's explosive like dynamite. What a sensational pair they were, Metheny and Mays.

I do not think this is unusual at all. I have a long list composed of mainly British Invasion songs, which is when I really started getting into music. I also include include Til I Die and Surf’s Up from The Beach Boys Surf’s Up album. I want to express the joy that I felt in life and choose songs that made me happy. The one song that has very striking telephone imagery for me is Texas Flood. Stevie Ray Vaughan did a memorable cover of it for his 1983 album but the song was first recorded by blues singer Larry Davis in 1958. “It’s flooding down in Texas, and all the telephone lines are down.”

They have their own box set now. It's one of those clamshells but you get original albums with bonus material and a nice write-up. Most soul music and a huge swath of pop music is simply a conversation. When in that zone as a songwriter, things happen. Whoever can convince is more conversational. Think lawyers, actors, DA's, and politicians.

When my wife and I bought our first house together in 2005, we had a standard baker light phone as our landline. It was red and we called it The Bat Phone. Only this year have I started using a mobile phone. My family gave me one for Christmas. I have resisted owning one until then because I see how dependant people become on them and I didn't want my children to become like that. Thankfully, even though my teenage children each have smart phones, they aren't glued to them constantly like so many kids are today. The first song about phones that came to my mind is the Dr Hook song, Silvia’s Mother. A heart-breaking song based on a true story. The only other song I can think of that you did not mention is the title track from Queensrÿche's Operation: Mindcrime album. A very powerful song.
