I personally havent played this game yet, but it seems to not fit the vibe of Dragon Age games at all. It looks so cartoonish, the dialogues are unnatural and it has this weird feeling. Hard to explain, but it feels so "everything will be alright with the power of friendship!" disney-ish. 💀

While I enjoyed Veilguard, sometimes the writing is so polarizing. There’s parts that are really good, and it’s like yes, this is what I wanted! But then some scenes feel like they’re the first draft written. Like a writer put a line somewhere, that was meant to be changed later, but it never was. Sometimes it’s so shallow, it can’t help but stick out.

What happened to the dialogue? I'm replaying Origins and the lines here are.. way too easy to understand unlike the vocabulary I had to learn when first playing Origins

The funny thing is that the romances of Inquisition are not even the best in the franchise, the passion and drama of DA2 or DAO gives them a lot of trouble. I would rather have cried with rage and helplessness, with a broken heart at Anders' madness, feeling Fenris's fear that makes it impossible for him to be free to love, or Alistair's desperation knowing that as king he will not be able to love an elf woman, that the totally empty after Lucanis' absolute lack of emotion. I have never felt greater disappointment in my life when faced with a "romance", not only does it lack passion and emotionality (not once does he openly express that he loves Rook) but we have to endure that his deep dialogues, his emotions on the surface are tell Neve, not us. You see how in Veilguard, the romance scene on the night before the final battle follows the same formula with each different character. They don't understand what a role-playing game is at all.
