There were many failures in the previous fan! I had to change 10 fans at Home Depot because the motor got stuck. With this new generation they did it better! Thanks

The GEN1 M18 fan is 3 speed vs the new M18 PACKOUT fan is variable speed. Also, the GEN1 M18 fan uses a AC brick vs the new M18 PACKOUT fan can take a standard AC extension cord. I think Milwaukee just slapped together a GEN1 fan instead of thinking a little before putting it out.

The gen 2 stats on milwaukee's website is 20.5mph velocity, 850cfm. Whereas the gen 1 stats are 18mph velocity, 284cfm. This new one will hopefully be a much needed big step up if those stats are true

800CFM and 2mph speed increase is a huge upgrade

Had to buy a craftman mister fan since milwaukee doesn't have one out yet

The Ryobi mister is great, use it every day.

So they make a new fan with crap mounting features, like you couldnt have integrated the spring loaded feature from m12 to clamp on 2x4s...somehow they always shortchange consumers purposely in every product everytime to squeeze every penny out of them

The cfm ratings on fans are very deceptive. I have this 18 inch fan with 3400 cfm. I have the ryobi 40v 20 inch fan that has 6300 cfm. If you stand in front of them you would swear that they're pretty much neck and neck. I've purchased fans before thinking that more cfm partially means it delivers more air but that's not true

@@HowtoAutomotive it might but cfm ratings are deceptive. I wasred money purchasing a Dewalt fan because of cfm ratings and some saying it blows more than the Milwaukee.
