Bought this same kit and waiting for the parts to come in from the US. Taking forever. Stock brakes were at 400 degrees C at TMP and I don’t have any power adders.
@bsquaredmotorsports5 ай бұрын
400 degrees is actually not too high, I feel like even some aggressive pads on stock setup can get up to 600-800. Just remember, the very first 1:19.7 to ever be set by a naturally aspirated FR-S on a Tomei EL and simple OFT tune was running OEM calipers with just Project Mu Club Racer pads. I personally didn't even think about a brake upgrade until I went with a super charger.

Absolutely going to do an ER-1 review - so far, so good, they're exactly as JRP told me they were - medium bite, good modulation, and a solid long lasting endurance pad, ER-1 Review in upcoming videos. You’re not alone lol. I stated working on my brz as well. Installing my Jackson racing c38 kit. The same alternator bolt u messed up on I ran into as well. My bolt is fine but I think the nut in the alternator is stripped because my Jackson racing bolt mount won’t thread in…. Not sure what to do now. Also threaded my pulley bolt under the alternator but that wasn’t bad cause it’s $3 to get another bolt.

When I was working on my 2018 Audi A4, I was installing basically all new breathing hardware: intercooler, free flowing charge pipes, downpipe/high flow cat, and valved exhaust. My concept of how I thought it should go vs. how it did go was....well let's just say 2 weeks turned into 2 months. But I took my time and I don't regret it. Just keep all of your screws, bolts, nuts, etc., organized or attached to the places you removed them. That right there will save you a lot of time. Like you, the only way I learned was by experiencing it. The more you do, the better of an understanding you have and in the future you'll make better and more confident decisions. You're doing great my man. Keep up the good work!
@stevenshizzle6 ай бұрын
I should add I have an entire suite of suspension upgrades planned and I'm doing most of it myself. I plan on it taking 3-4 weekends (because I should be able to do it in 1-2 weekends). And I'm not even going to bother doing the coilovers. I feel like there's too much room for me to mess that up so I'll take it in somewhere.
@bsquaredmotorsports6 ай бұрын
And I bet you, like me, gained a ton more confidence with pushing the car hard because you know the system much more intimately, and you are more likely to understand and diagnose issues since you put it together with your hands

Are you putting a heat shield on that intake? With it being so close to the supercharger, I'm also certain it will get heat soaked and youll likely see reduced performance.
@stevenshizzle6 ай бұрын
Might not hurt for sure. Otherwise you get a feedback mechanism of warmer air in, then warmer air compressed, then hotter supercharger, so on and so forth.
@bsquaredmotorsports6 ай бұрын
yeah I do plan on making a box for it - the backside of the intake filter was hot and the front was cold, just from idling, proving that non-contact radiant heat does contribute to IAT's at some capacity - so intake box and heat-reflective tape will be going on in addition to a vented hood

I'd see if that bolt and nut on the back of the alternator would tap out, with a punch, or screwdriver, and a hammer. It seems like the long bolt threads onto the nut, not the alternator housing itself.
@bsquaredmotorsports6 ай бұрын
tried to punch it out, but its was touch and I didnt want to damage the alternator casting - my teammate ended up welding to the stuck stud and rotated it out, and then chased the threads - PHEW!

new to your channel, saw your most recent one, and thought I'd look deeper. opinions are a dime a dozon, and I want to give mine, but you can disregard it. I think you have enough charisma to do well, but I feel like your content is too thinly spread out. Consider making less videos, instead have bigger, more substantial ones that have a payoff for the viewer to look forward to. I know video making can be tough, and draining to make, so if your motivation is limited, this approach may not be viable for you. Either way, good luck

I will not disregard your comment, thank you for making the time to consider some helpful advice to our small channel! You're right, maybe I'll spread the release times more, which could give me more time to edit with better quality and therefore better pay off and also more time to film other content in-between. I really appreciate your comment, as you can see we're not filmmakers, we just love racing and know how to press record on a camera - all else after that is a constant work in progress.
