Just ordered my skiffs. I keep thinking about the ceramic possibly wearing out the knife quicker. Perhaps it would take so long to see a difference it doesn’t matter. 🤷

Nice! I’ve installed Skiffs in my XM-24 and Full Track. It’s made the biggest difference in the Full Track, they tend to have strong detents and the working finish didn’t help the smoothness at all. With the skiff bearings I can run the pivot a little looser and get the full track’s blade to actually drop shut.

I left the Standard Triway in mine… took a lot of fiddling… but the came out perfect for my liking.. I agree ceramic bearings upgrades sound like a great idea.. not sure why hinderers don’t have this already in this day and age. They sure cost enough to warrant ceramic bearings

I use Gillian ceramic white and black ceramic balls in my hinderers. Ones a slicer others a Bowie xm-18 both reground by bgm knives.

@@THEFULLERFANATIC yes I can definitely tell a difference. The steel bearings are more fall shut guillotine like. The Gillian’s smoothed them out a ton and makes them more fluid like a hydrologic controlled fall shut. Also I can tell a huge difference with how long I can for between cleaning them because I work with saw dust from my daily job and I can go about a month and a half. The steel bearing two weeks max.

In my Civivi knives I've upgraded them to Boca bearings ceramic knife bearings. Very noticeable improvement, also Boca is awesome American made bearings at a reasonable price.
